Over het werk Als onderhoudsmonteur werk je in een groot, volledig geautomatiseerd distributiecentrum waar de techniek continu in beweging is. Transportsystemen, rollenbanen, liften en andere geautomatiseerde installaties zorgen ervoor dat enorme hoeveelheden goederen door het warehouse worden verplaatst. Valt ergens een installatie stil? Dan begint voor jou het interessante werk: uitzoeken waar het probleem zit en zorgen dat het systeem zo snel mogelijk weer draait. Daarbij krijg je te maken met een brede combinatie van mechanica, elektrotechniek en besturingstechniek. De ene storing zit in een mechanisch onderdeel, de volgende vraagt juist om elektrotechnisch zoekwerk of het uitlezen van de besturing. Je kijkt verder dan alleen het vervangen van een defect onderdeel: je achterhaalt de oorzaak en bepaalt wat nodig is om het probleem goed op te lossen. Via geavanceerde monitoringsapplicaties zie je wat er in het systeem gebeurt en spoor je technische en systeemfouten gericht op. Je voert reparaties en onderhoud uit en legt belangrijke storingen en werkzaamheden netjes vast. Juist die combinatie maakt deze functie interessant: je werkt niet aan één machine, maar aan een compleet geautomatiseerd systeem waarin verschillende technieken samenkomen. Je krijgt de ruimte om storingen zelfstandig te onderzoeken, oplossingen te bedenken en jezelf verder te ontwikkelen in besturingstechniek en PLC's.
