Kom dan werken bij de PANDA-studie, op het snijvlak van de (kinder)psychiatrie, psychologie, neurobiologie, gynaecologie en verloskunde. - Reageer t/m 21-10-2026 - 3986 - 28 - 29 uur - WO - Wetenschap en Onderzoek - Reageer t/m 21-10-2026 - 3986 Functie inhoud Wanneer een kind een ouder heeft met een ernstige psychiatrische aandoening, zoals een bipolaire of psychotische aandoening, of ernstige depressie, heeft dit kind een 2 tot 4 maal groter risico om zelf psychiatrische problemen te ontwikkelen. We willen beter begrijpen hoe en wanneer (dit risico op) een ernstige psychiatrische aandoening ontstaat. We weten dat de (hersen)ontwikkeling van een kind tijdens de zwangerschap en de eerste twee jaar van het leven heel belangrijk is voor de rest van het leven. Maar we weten nog niet veel over hoe de hersenen van kinderen ontwikkelen in de baarmoeder. Ook weten we nog weinig over hoe pasgeboren baby's en jonge kinderen van ouders met een ernstige psychiatrische aandoening zich ontwikkelen. Daarnaast zijn er wereldwijd nog weinig gegevens bekend over de invloed van stress van ouders, kenmerken van het gezinsleven en de ouder-kindrelatie op de sociaalemotionele ontwikkeling van het kind in deze groep. Als we vroeg kunnen zien dat de ontwikkeling van deze kinderen anders verloopt, dan hopen we met goede begeleiding te voorkomen dat kinderen ziek worden of het tijdstip van mogelijk ziek worden uit te stellen. In de PANDA-studie volgen we de hersen- en sociaalemotionele ontwikkeling van ongeboren en pasgeboren kinderen van wie minimaal één ouder een ernstige psychiatrische aandoening heeft.
