Werken als orderpicker: wat houdt het precies in? Als orderpicker speel je een cruciale rol in het magazijn of distributiecentrum. Zonder jouw bijdrage als orderpicker komen producten niet op tijd bij klanten, winkels of bedrijven. Maar wat doet een orderpicker nu precies? Hoe ziet een werkdag eruit? En welke eigenschappen en certificaten heb je nodig om aan de slag te gaan? In deze blog vertellen we je alles over deze afwisselende en belangrijke functie. Wat zijn je taken als orderpicker? Een orderpicker verzamelt producten uit een magazijn of distributiecentrum en zorgt ervoor dat bestellingen compleet en correct worden klaargezet voor verzending. Dit kan om allerlei soorten producten gaan: van levensmiddelen en kleding tot technische apparatuur en bouwmaterialen. Het soort product is sterk afhankelijk van de opdrachtgever waar jij voor aan de slag gaat. Als orderpicker werk je met een lijst of een geautomatiseerd systeem, zoals een handscanner, om de juiste artikelen te vinden en (in) te pakken. Hoe ziet jouw werkdag eruit? Een werkdag als orderpicker begint vaak met een korte briefing. Hierin worden belangrijke punten besproken, zoals drukte, bijzondere orders of veiligheidsinstructies. Vervolgens ga je aan de slag met het verzamelen van orders. Dit kan op verschillende manieren: - Handmatig orderpicken: met een lijst of scanner loop je door het magazijn om producten te verzamelen. - Pick-to-light of voice picking: een systeem met lichtsignalen of stemcommando's helpt je de juiste producten te vinden. - Met de heftruck of EPT: ga je aan de slag met grotere of zwaardere producten? Dan maak je vaak gebruik van een elektrische pallettruck (EPT) of heftruck. Tussen het orderpicken door zorg je er eventueel voor dat producten correct worden verpakt en soms ook gelabeld.
