Juist bij ouderen met dementie, cognitieve veranderingen of complex gedrag vraagt goede zorg om iemand die verder kijkt. Iemand die verbanden legt, gedrag probeert te begrijpen en samen met de mensen rondom een cliënt zoekt naar wat wel werkt. Als orthopedagoog-generalist krijg je hier een inhoudelijk stevige rol in. Je combineert diagnostiek en behandeling met coaching van zorgteams en denkt mee over hoe de kwaliteit van zorg verder kan groeien. Functie Je gaat werken met ouderen bij wie cognitieve problematiek en veranderingen in gedrag samenkomen. Als regiebehandelaar houd je overzicht over het behandelproces en zorg je ervoor dat diagnostiek, behandeling en begeleiding goed op elkaar aansluiten. Je onderzoekt het cognitief en sociaal-emotioneel functioneren en brengt in kaart waar bepaald gedrag vandaan kan komen. Vervolgens vertaal je jouw bevindingen naar de dagelijkse praktijk. Want uiteindelijk gaat het erom dat een cliënt passende ondersteuning krijgt en dat collega's weten hoe zij daar in het dagelijks contact bij kunnen aansluiten. Bij complexe situaties kijk je mee, observeer je en adviseer je het zorgteam. Je zet waar nodig gedragsinterventies in en helpt collega's om gedrag vanuit een ander perspectief te bekijken. Ook naasten betrek je bij de behandeling en begeleiding, zodat er gezamenlijk gewerkt wordt aan een aanpak die past bij de cliënt. Je werkt hierin nauw samen met onder andere artsen, psychologen, verpleegkundig specialisten en vaktherapeuten.
