To support our further growth ambitions, Brantsandpatents is looking for an experienced (partially qualified) European Patent Attorney with a background in life sciences.
As a (partially qualified) patent attorney, you will analyze the R&D activities and innovations of your clients and develop an appropriate IP strategy based on this analysis.
Within the patent department, you will work with other patent advisors and patent paralegals. In this varied role, you will be responsible for mapping (technical) inventions, drafting patent applications, and managing and guiding the patent portfolios of clients in the broad field of life sciences.
You will keep an eye on competing innovations and advise on potential conflicts when necessary. You will also proactively propose solutions. You will represent your clients before the Belgian Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office.
You'll work from our office in Ghent.
You have or are...
- A Patent Attorney or Partially Qualified Patent Attorney.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in the private sector
- At least a Masters' degree in life sciences. A PhD is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical skills and a results-oriented, quality-driven approach.
- A client-driven mindset.
- Fluent in Dutch with a good knowledge of English.
