The posting

Sinds 2011 is Brantsandpatents het go-to-kantoor voor bedrijven die strategisch advies wensen over intellectuele eigendom (IP). Met een eigentijdse en no-nonsense aanpak bouwen we een IP-strategie op maat, afgestemd op de noden van onze klant. Voor ons kantoor in Gent zoeken we een PATENT PARALEGAL mét ervaring. Heb je reeds een eerste relevante ervaring in een gelijkaardige rol, en/of ervaring met octrooiprocedures? Dan zijn wij op zoek naar jou!

In deze afwisselende job ben je (mee) het eerste aanspreekpunt voor je klantenportfolio (van multinationals tot start-ups). Je bent verantwoordelijk voor de administratief-juridische begeleiding van octrooiprocedures in binnen- en buitenland. Dit doe je uiteraard in nauwe samenwerking met onze patent attorneys en -advisors.

Jouw belangrijkste taken zijn o.a.

  • Het indienen van octrooi- of merkaanvragen en erop toezien dat aan alle formaliteiten gedurende de verleningsprocedure wordt voldaan
  • Het invoeren en bewaken van termijnen en deadlines, en zorgen voor de juiste verwerking van gegevens in ons geautomatiseerd systeem
  • Het verwerken van correspondentie (mail, post, ...) i.f.v. jouw lopende dossiers
  • Het onderhouden van (internationale) contacten met klanten, buitenlandse agenten en octrooi-/merkenbureaus
  • Waar nodig lees je aanvragen van onze attorneys na en stuur je deze door naar de klant ter controle, of naar de officiële instanties

Jouw profiel?

  • Je hebt een bachelordiploma Rechtspraktijk, Office Management of bent gelijkwaardig door ervaring.
  • Minstens een eerste relevante werkervaring in een vergelijkbare functie, bij voorkeur in een IP-kantoor en/of als patent paralegal.
  • Je hebt een perfecte kennis van de Nederlandse taal en een (zeer) goede kennis van het Engels. Kennis van andere talen is zeker een pluspunt.
  • Je kan goed overweg met Microsoft Office. Kennis van andere IT-systemen is een plus.
  • Je voelt je goed in een omgeving waar zaken vooruitgaan. Je werkt proactief, pikt snel dingen op, werkt gestructureerd en streeft naar kwaliteit en resultaat.
  • Je vindt het fijn om te werken met deadlines.
  • Je bent niet bang om verantwoordelijkheid en initiatief te nemen en kan meerdere zaken tegelijk combineren.
  • Je hebt oog voor detail, vindt nauwkeurigheid belangrijk en streeft ernaar kwaliteit af te leveren aan onze klanten.
  • Je houdt van korte en krachtige interne communicatie (ons motto: “Just ask” en “Just do”).
  • Je hebt interesse in IP- en octrooirecht.
