Omdat ze vastlopen in gedrag, contact maken niet altijd vanzelf gaat of omdat de wereld soms nét wat te veel van hen vraagt. Jij helpt hen om stap voor stap vertrouwen op te bouwen. Dat doe je niet alleen met het kind, maar ook met ouders en iedereen om het kind heen. Met jouw rust, aandacht en betrokkenheid maak je het verschil op de momenten die ertoe doen. Want een kind dat zich veilig voelt, krijgt ruimte om te groeien. Wat je gaat doen Je werkt in een groep met kinderen van 2 tot 6 jaar of van 6 tot 13 jaar die extra ondersteuning nodig hebben in hun gedrag en ontwikkeling. In een kleine groep bied je structuur, duidelijkheid en nabijheid. Je begeleidt kinderen tijdens dagelijkse activiteiten, zoals spelen, eten en samen leren. Je helpt kinderen bij het ontwikkelen van sociale, emotionele en praktische vaardigheden. Je observeert wat een kind nodig heeft en deelt je bevindingen met collega's en betrokken professionals. Je werkt vanuit het behandelplan en voert de afgesproken begeleiding uit. Je onderhoudt contact met ouders en stemt af met collega's en de gedragsdeskundige. Je legt vast wat je ziet en bespreekt dit binnen het team. Je bent dichtbij het kind. Je biedt voorspelbaarheid als iets spannend is en stimuleert zelfstandigheid wanneer dat kan. Zo help je kinderen elke dag een stap verder. "Het mooiste moment is als een kind een stap zet die eerst onmogelijk leek. Dan zie je wat vertrouwen, oefening en kleine successen kunnen betekenen."
