The posting

We zoeken iemand voor ongeveer 12 uur per week verdeeld over 2 dagen, ter vervanging van één van de vaste assistenten van onze zoon Ward. Het gaat over woensdag en donderdag, maar het is bespreekbaar om een dag te wisselen met de assistent die de andere dagen invult.

Ward is een jong volwassene van 24 jaar met het syndroom van down die als vrijwilliger werkt op verschiullende plaatsen. Hij heeft een vriendin waar hij regelmatig mee afspreekt en een fijne vriendengroep. Hij heeft behoefte aan een ondersteuner die hem helpt op praktisch en organisatorisch vlak in verschillende situaties en samen met Ward aan de slag gaat om stappen te zetten naar een zo onafhankelijk mogelijk leven in een inclusieve setting.

In deze functie ben je verantwoordelijk voor het concreet ondersteunen bij verschillende taken op de werkplek en begeleiding in de vrije tijd. Daarnaast draag je zorg voor het inclusief traject en kijk je met de juiste bril.

Je zal ook mee helpen bij de zoektocht naar geschikte werkplaatsen en Ward daarbij begeleiden om de taken die hem toevertrouwd worden correct en zo zelfstandig mogelijk uit te voeren en om aan te leren om het openbaar vervoer te nemen naar die plekken.

Wij zoeken iemand die zich thuis voelt in het thema inclusie en stressbestendig is. Handelingsgericht werken is je niet vreemd. Stiptheid en correctheid heel belangrijk, evenals de nodige discretie : je komt immers ook in privé situaties wij vragen je dus ook voorzichtig om te gaan met de informatie die je te weten komt.

Er zijn verschillende werkplekken : Zottegem, Brakel, Zwalm. De werkplekken in Zottegem, Lierde, Brakel en Zwalm zijn te bereiken met het openbaar vervoer (station in Zottegem en Sint-Denijs-Boekel ; bus in centrum Nederbrakel en naar de werkplek in Lierde). We zoeken de stageplaatsen zo mogelijk ook waar die vlot bereikbaar zijn.

Goede kennis van de Nederlandse taal is een vereiste om met Ward te kunnen communiceren.

Er zijn niet echt diplomavereisten. We merken wel dat het beter vlot als het iemand is met een bachelor diploma in de sociale sector.

We zoeken iemand die sociaal is, een grapje kan maken, niet snel opgeeft, en kan werken met een open vizier. Je staat open voor het werken in een inclusieve setting. Je bent stipt en correct. We verwachten ook de nodige discretie, je komt immers in de privé omgeving van de te ondersteunen persoon en zijn familie.

Een grondige kennis van het Nederlands is nodig.

Een rijbewijs B is aangewezen, maar niet strikt nodig als je de werkplekken vlot kan bereiken met het openbaar vervoer.
