Je komt terecht in het warme, unieke leven van Pieter-Jan, een man van 28 met een groot hart en een nog grotere persoonlijkheid. Pieter-Jan is iemand die je meteen raakt: ontwapenend, dankbaar, eerlijk, grappig en ongelooflijk gevoelig voor wat leeft bij de mensen rondom hem. Zijn knuffels, zijn guitige blik, zijn liefde voor Samson & Gert, FC De Kampioenen (met bijhorende quotes van Balthazar Boma ), bezoekjes aan vrienden en familie, wandelintjes, concertjes, frietjes en zachte muziek maken van elke dag samen een klein feest.

Pieter-Jan leeft met cerebrale parese en gebruikt een rolstoel. Hij heeft hulp nodig bij een aantal fysieke momenten (zoals wassen, toiletbezoek, in/uit bed tillen – enkel 2x per dag). Zijn communicatie is vlot en helder, en hij houdt van duidelijkheid, structuur en visuele ondersteuning. In stressvolle situaties zoekt hij soms zijn grenzen op, maar met jouw rustige aanwezigheid en voorspelbaarheid vindt hij weer balans.

Samen met jou wil hij voluit leven: uit eten, naar de winkel, muziek luisteren, op uitstap gaan, wandelen of gewoon genieten van de kleine dingen.

● Je kan omgaan met stressmomenten en bent niet bang om ook non-verbale communicatie in te zetten.

● Je beschikt over een rijbewijs B. Je krijgt toegang tot Pieter-Jans auto en tankkaart tijdens de uren dat je met hem werkt.

● Je bent fysiek in staat om hem 2x per dag te helpen tillen (bij het in/uit bed leggen). Mits de juiste techniek lukt het trouwens iedereen ;-) en deze techniek word je aangeleerd.

● Je kan genieten van het leven in zijn eenvoud: een frietje halen, samen wandelen, fotoboekjes maken of gewoon muziek luisteren op een rustig moment.
