Je draagt bij aan veilige, hoogwaardige geboortezorg en werkt nauw samen met gynaecologen, verloskundigen en andere zorgprofessionals binnen de geboortezorgketen. Je verleent zelfstandig zorg in alle fasen van het proces: prenataal, nataal en postnataal. Je begeleidt bevallingen met een medische indicatie, bewaakt de kwaliteit van zorg en ondersteunt de medisch specialist. Daarnaast kan een poliklinisch spreekuur onderdeel zijn van je werkzaamheden. Je bent actief betrokken bij zorginnovatie en de verschuiving van 2de lijns zorg naar 1ste lijns zorg (uitbreiden BAMI-indicaties) op de verloskamers. Je bevordert scholing en kennisoverdracht naar zorgprofessionals van IGO Geboortehart en draagt actief bij aan het bevorderen van de integrale samenwerking. Je draait dag-, avond- en nachtdiensten. De afdeling Het Centrum voor geboortezorg is een zeer dynamische afdeling waar alles gericht is op aanstaande ouders, om deze zo goed mogelijk te begeleiden tijdens de zwangerschap en de geboorte. Er worden jaarlijks zo'n 2.600 baby's geboren. De visie in ons centrum is ' family centered care' waarbij moeder, partner en baby op één suite verblijven na de bevalling. Een enthousiast team van klinisch verloskundigen, physician assistants, gynaecologen, obstetrieverpleegkundigen, kraamverzorgenden, secretaresses en servicemedewerkers werken nauw met elkaar samen om de beste zorg te leveren.
