Je werkt vanuit een volledige detachering voor de projectorganisatie Merwedelijn bij de gemeente Utrecht . Deze werving is uitbesteed aan bureau PublicSpirit. De regio Utrecht groeit enorm richting 2040 komen er in de Metropoolregio Utrecht (MRU) maar liefst 165.000 woningen en 110.000 arbeidsplaatsen bij (waaronder circa 75.000 woningen in Groot Merwede Rijnenburg). Om deze groei bereikbaar en leefbaar te houden, slaan Rijk en regio de handen ineen. Met een gereserveerd budget van 1,8 miljard euro gaan we definitief van start met de planuitwerkingsfase van de Merwedelijn een nieuwe, verdiepte tramverbinding tussen Utrecht Centraal en Nieuwegein/IJsselstein via de Europalaan. Dit is de ruggengraat voor de verstedelijking van Groot Merwede en in de toekomst Rijnenburg. Als nieuwe projectdirecteur sta jij aan het roer van deze historische mobiliteits- en gebiedsontwikkeling. Je komt in dienst bij de provincie Utrecht en wordt 100% gedetacheerd naar de nieuw op te richten, zelfstandige projectorganisatie (ondergebracht bij de gemeente Utrecht). De functie Als projectdirecteur ben jij de strategische kapitein die de projectorganisatie optimaal laat presteren om de gevraagde resultaten te behalen. Je stuurt op de doelstellingen binnen de kaders van de Bestuursovereenkomst (BOK) en zorgt voor een sluitende businesscase en een definitief investeringsbesluit van 1,8 miljard euro.
