Het belang van het opbouwen van relaties als projectmanager - Project Management Projectmanager zijn in een organisatie is geen gemakkelijke taak. Dag na dag probeer je anderen aan te sturen om de projectdoelen te bereiken. Vaak doe je dit ook nog met beperkte middelen tot je beschikking, diegene in je projectteam moeten gemiddeld het werk van meer dan één persoon doen om de doelen te bereiken, tenzij je je resourcemanagement goed op orde hebt, maar dat is weer een andere blog-topic. Wat blijkt? Als je geen sterke relaties hebt opgebouwd in de hele organisatie, trek je aan het kortste eind. Je zult het beduidend moeilijker hebben om de doelen te bereiken en de belanghebbenden tevreden te houden. Door sterke relaties op te bouwen, vinden we het gemakkelijker om samen te werken en dingen voor elkaar te krijgen door middel van de hulp van anderen. Iets wat elke projectmanager moet doen. Het is moeilijker om iemand te benaderen die het al heel erg druk heeft als je niet de moeite hebt genomen om een relatie met hem of haar op te bouwen. We hebben als mensen namelijk de neiging om degenen te helpen die de tijd hebben genomen om ons te leren kennen en waarmee we al een relatie hebben opgebouwd. Het opbouwen van relaties als zakelijke noodzaak Vaak worden de voordelen van goede relaties op de werkvloer als een vaag concept gezien. Het zou alleen veel verstandiger zijn om het bouwen van relaties als zakelijke noodzaak te zien. Het heeft namelijk een tastbare impact op de organisatie. Naast de zakelijke relatie die je met je team aangaat is het ook van belang om de grens van formaliteit te overschrijden. Welgemeende interesse tonen in collega's en tijd vrij maken om een band op te bouwen, draagt écht bij tot meer begrip en verdraagzaamheid en daardoor ook het vertrouwen in wederzijdse belangen binnen het project.
