Draag als promovendus bij aan de ontwikkeling van gepersonaliseerde radiotherapie voor patiënten met longkanker! Dit ga je doen De AERO-studie is een klinisch onderzoeksproject waarin kunstmatige intelligentie, innovatieve functionele beeldvorming en geavanceerde data-analyse worden ingezet om radiotherapie voor patiënten met longkanker verder te personaliseren. Het doel is om regionale veranderingen in de longfunctie als gevolg van radiotherapie te voorspellen. Deze voorspellingen worden vertaald naar gepersonaliseerde bestralingsplannen, waarbij functioneel belangrijke longregio's zoveel mogelijk worden gespaard. Zo draagt de studie bij aan het verminderen van bijwerkingen en het verbeteren van de kwaliteit van leven. Een uniek aspect van dit project is het gebruik van een innovatieve, niet-invasieve methode voor functionele beeldvorming die binnen onze afdeling is ontwikkeld. Als promovendus binnen de AERO-studie houd je je bezig met de ontwikkeling en toepassing van AI-gebaseerde voorspellingsmodellen. Je werkzaamheden bestaan onder andere uit: - Je verzamelt en cureert klinische en beeldvormingsdata. - Je genereert anatomische, functionele en dosimetrische maps van de longen. - Je ontwikkelt AI-gebaseerde voorspellingsmodellen voor regionale veranderingen in de longfunctie. - Je onderzoekt met deze modellen het ruimtelijk optreden van toxiciteit na radiotherapie. - Je verfijnt de voorspellingsmodellen met prospectief verzamelde klinische data. - Je onderzoekt in de laatste fase de technische haalbaarheid van integratie van de modellen in klinische systemen. Je werkt hierbij in een multidisciplinair team van onderzoekers op het gebied van computerwetenschappen, data science en AI, radiotherapeuten, klinisch fysici en klinisch onderzoekers.
