UMC Utrecht (UMCU) · Utrecht Voor ons landelijke KWF-project Improving Breast Cancer Prevention by Enhancing Identification of Carriers of Mutations in High-Risk Breast Cancer Genes: A Multidimensional Approach zoeken we bij het UMC Utrecht een promovendus. Dit ga je doen Je ontwikkelt en analyseert de online DNA-poli, een online poli voor families met erfelijke borstkanker. Dat doe je samen met onderzoekers, artsen, patiënten en patiëntvertegenwoordigers. De DNA-poli moet patiënten en familieleden laagdrempelige toegang geven tot informatie over erfelijke borstkanker in de familie en hen ondersteunen bij de keuze voor DNA-onderzoek. Met de online DNA-poli willen we de toegang tot genetische informatie en DNA-onderzoek voor patiënten en familieleden eenvoudiger maken. Een virtuele assistent is een belangrijk onderdeel van de DNA-poli. Vervolgens ga je de online DNA-poli landelijk testen in een gerandomiseerde trial. Je onderzoekt hoe de DNA-poli wordt gebruikt, wat de ervaringen van patiënten, familieleden en zorgverleners zijn en of de DNA-poli bijdraagt aan passende toegang tot DNA-onderzoek. De DNA-poli is onderdeel van een landelijk onderzoeksproject dat zich richt op het beter opsporen van mensen met een erfelijke aanleg voor borstkanker. Binnen dit project ontwikkelen we samen met collega's en patiënten innovatieve strategieën om erfelijke borstkanker beter en eerder op te sporen. Dit doen we door knelpunten in het proces van genetisch onderzoek, counseling en familieonderzoek aan te pakken. Zo dragen we bij aan het voorkomen van ziekte en sterfte.
