Het laboratorium in Heerlen voert onderzoek uit, ontwikkelt en valideert analysemethoden en ondersteunt productbeoordelingen voor grondstoffen, halffabricaten en eindproducten. Het kwaliteits- en labteam bestaat uit ongeveer 10 medewerkers met functies zoals labtechnici, analisten en senior analisten en werkt zowel zelfstandig als in teamverband afhankelijk van de taak. De organisatie werkt projectmatig en past Lean Six Sigma-methodes toe om datagedreven kwaliteitsanalyses te verbeteren en procescontrole te optimaliseren. Medewerkers krijgen de mogelijkheid om methoden te leren ontwikkelen en te valideren en om te participeren in continue verbeterprojecten binnen en buiten de afdeling. De organisatie besteedt aandacht aan datamanagement en het structureel inzetten van analyses om productie-efficiency te verhogen en afwijkingen te verminderen. In deze functie wordt samengewerkt met afdelingen als productie, processing, logistiek, planning, marketing en sales om meetresultaten te interpreteren en verbeteracties te initiëren. De rol vereist ervaring met instrumenten en systemen zoals LIMS, ICP en HPLC en kennis van kwaliteitssystemen zoals ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001.
