Als R&D Engineer ben je het kloppend hard van de innovatie binnen de chemische processen. Je stuurt samen met je collega's projecten aan die enerzijds technologische vooruitgang brengen en anderzijds bijdragen aan duurzame oplossingen. Je zorgt ervoor dat markttrends en milieuregels vertaald worden in praktisch schaalbare toepassingen.

Een greep uit je takenpakket is het volgende:

  • Initiëren en leiden van duurzame R&D-projecten, waarbij je de focus legt op CO₂-reductie, recycleerbaarheid en alternatieve grondstoffen;
  • Ontwikkelen van toekomstgerichte materialen en pastaformules die inspelen op de regelgeving en klantenverwachtingen;
  • Nastreven van zero-waste gedurende het proces;
  • Ecologische optimalisaties doorvoeren;
  • Het in kaart brengen van procesvariaties;
  • Oplossen van technische bottlenecks aan de hand van duurzame methoden;
  • Opzetten van ingangscontroles in samenwerking met leveranciers en het intern kwaliteitsteam;
  • Screenen van alternatieve grondstoffen, alsook het testen ervan op performantie en milieu-impact;
  • Integreren van voorraadplanning en lifecycle-analyse in het sourcingbeleid;
  • Je zet actief in op hergebruik en "design for recyclability";
  • Koppelen van de economische haalbaarheid aan de ecologische winst;
  • Berekenen en optimaliseren van kost en verbruik in het kader van duurzame grondstoffen;
  • Samenwerken met collega's van verschillende afdelingen;
  • Vertalen van duurzame strategieën naar een duidelijke communicatie voor klanten, leveranciers en collega's;
  • Deelnemen aan overkoepelende duurzaamheidsinitiatieven.

Wat maakt van jou de ideale kandidaat?

  • Een master in de chemie of gelijkaardig;
  • Je hebt al enkele jaren ervaring in een industriële omgeving, bij voorkeur in de chemie of coatings;
  • Een zeer goede kennis van de Nederlandse taal en een goede kennis van het Engels. Spreek je Frans of Duits, dan is dit zeker een pluspunt;
  • Analytisch, vernieuwend, projectmatig en duurzaamheidsminded zijn eigenschappen die jou typeren;
  • Een hands-on mentaliteit met een actieve drang om zelf zaken aan te pakken is iets waar jij je helemaal in herkent;
  • Je hebt oog voor detail en gaat nauwkeurig te werk;
  • Flexibel op vlak van wisselende prioriteiten;
  • Je bent probleemoplossend ingesteld en hebt ook oog voor verbeteringen in het productieproces;
  • Je bent bereid occasioneel te reizen (15-20%).
