The posting

Als Senior Accountant versterk je het Finance team van een internationale softwareorganisatie gespecialiseerd in IT- en cybersecurityoplossingen. Vanuit het hoofdkantoor in Merelbeke bewaak je de dagelijkse boekhouding van meerdere vennootschappen en zorg je voor nauwkeurigheid, continuïteit en naleving van financiële verplichtingen.

Je combineert operationele accounting met afsluitingen, fiscale ondersteuning en procesverbetering. Daarnaast neem je actief initiatief om AI-ondersteunde workflows te ontwikkelen met toepassingen zoals Microsoft Copilot en Claude. Je rapporteert aan de Accounting Manager en werkt binnen een Finance team van acht collega’s, verdeeld over Accounting en FP&A.

Je verantwoordelijkheden:

  • Voorbereiden en tijdig uitvoeren van leveranciersbetalingen.
  • Verwerken van alle payrollgerelateerde boekingen.
  • Verwerken van bankuittreksels.
  • Boeken en onderbouwen van grootboekverrichtingen.
  • Verzorgen van maand- en jaarafsluitingen.
  • Correct verwerken van toe te rekenen en over te dragen kosten en opbrengsten.
  • Controleren en opvolgen van het grootboek.
  • Herwaarderen van posities in vreemde valuta.
  • Afstemmen en reconciliëren van intercompanyposities.
  • Opvolgen van vaste activa, van activa in aanbouw tot buitengebruikstelling.
  • Ondersteunen bij internationale btw- en vennootschapsbelastingverplichtingen.
  • Voorbereiden van btw-aangiftes.
  • Meewerken aan financiële audits.
  • Ondersteunen van AP- en AR-accountants bij boekhoudkundige vragen.
  • Identificeren en realiseren van verbeteringen binnen accountingprocessen.
  • Initiëren en ondersteunen van financiële AI- en IT-projecten.
  • Ontwikkelen van AI-ondersteunde workflows voor onder meer reconciliaties en rapportering.
  • Collega’s meenemen in nieuwe werkwijzen en verdere automatisering.
  • Een bachelor- of masterdiploma in accountancy en/of finance vormt je basis.
  • Minstens vijf jaar ervaring in een vergelijkbare senior accountingfunctie of binnen audit of fiscaal advies is vereist.
  • IFRS beheers je grondig.
  • Een stevige kennis van btw en vennootschapsbelasting is noodzakelijk.
  • Excel gebruik je op een gevorderd niveau.
  • Nederlands en Engels beheers je vloeiend.
  • Nauwkeurigheid en oog voor detail kenmerken je boekhoudkundige werk.
  • Zelfstandig werken combineer je met het bewaken van prioriteiten in een snel veranderende omgeving.
  • Heldere communicatie helpt je om effectief samen te werken met verschillende stakeholders.
  • Onder druk behoud je het overzicht en pas je je vlot aan wanneer prioriteiten wijzigen.
  • Een collegiale houding motiveert je om anderen te ondersteunen en kennis te delen.
  • Nieuwsgierigheid naar AI gaat samen met de drive om nieuwe toepassingen praktisch uit te werken.
  • Initiatief nemen bij het ontwikkelen van AI-ondersteunde accountingprocessen spreekt je aan.
  • Nieuwe werkwijzen help je actief invoeren en uitdragen binnen het team.
