Overzicht Heb jij ruime ervaring met systeem-ecologisch onderzoek en de toepassing voor het beheer en herstel van meren en rivieren? Gaat het verlies van biodiversiteit in aquatische ecosystemen je aan het hart? Voor onze afdeling Waterkwaliteit en Ecosystemen zijn wij op zoek naar een initiatiefrijke senior ecoloog. Dit kun je verwachten als onderzoeker aquatisch ecoloog In deze rol ben je een zichtbare vertegenwoordiger van Deltares voor het werkveld aquatische ecologie. Je onderhoudt en versterkt relaties met opdrachtgevers zoals Rijkswaterstaat, ministeries (bv. MinIenW, MinLVVN), waterschappen, kennisinstellingen en internationale partners. Je vertaalt nieuwe ontwikkelingen en beleidsvragen naar innovatieve projecten. Als senior aquatisch ecoloog bij Deltares werk je mee aan de uitdagingen van het herstel van rivieren en meren, zoals de Kaderrichtlijn Water (KRW), de Europese Natuurherstelverordening, Ruimte voor de Rivier 2.0 en de ecologische ontwikkeling van het IJsselmeergebied en het verbeteren van ecologische weerstand tegen drukfactoren zoals klimaatverandering. Je ontwikkelt nieuwe inzichten over hoe het gebruik van watersystemen samen kan gaan met het behoud en herstel van biodiversiteit en goed ecologisch functioneren. Je legt verbanden tussen de fysische en chemische omstandigheden en de ecologische status van aquatische ecosystemen. Je draagt bij aan de wetenschappelijke onderbouwing van herstelmaatregelen en toekomstbestendig waterbeheer. Dit werk wordt steeds belangrijker in grootschalige integrale projecten, zowel in Nederland als in het buitenland. Je belangrijkste taken zijn: - Het initiëren van onderzoek, het leiden van (inter)nationale projecten en het ontwikkelen van innovatieve oplossingen voor de urgente opgaven van vandaag. Zo zet je jouw ecologische kennis in om de effecten van hydrologie, morfologie, waterkwaliteit en klimaatverandering te duiden; - Adviseren over het gebruik en functioneren van zoe...
