Mediahuis is een internationale mediagroep achter sterke nieuwsmerken in België, Nederland, Ierland, Luxemburg en Duitsland. Technologie speelt een cruciale rol in de verdere digitale ontwikkeling van onze organisatie en onze nieuwsmerken.

Binnen Technology & Product Studio (TPS) bouwen en beheren we de technologische fundamenten waarop onze digitale producten en organisatie steunen. We werken daarbij in een complexe en uitdagende omgeving met onder andere AWS, Azure, GCP en private cloud.

Om onze cloudomgeving niet alleen technisch sterk, maar ook financieel duurzaam en transparant te organiseren, versterken we ons team met een Senior FinOps Specialist. Je krijgt de kans om FinOps binnen Mediahuis verder vorm te geven en werkt op het kruispunt van cloud technology, finance en business.

Het is dus geen klassieke financiële functie en evenmin een puur technische cloudrol. Je brengt beide werelden samen en zorgt ervoor dat teams inzicht krijgen in hun cloudgebruik, ownership opnemen en betere beslissingen kunnen nemen.

Jobomschrijving

Als Senior FinOps Specialist help je Mediahuis om maximale waarde te halen uit onze cloudinvesteringen. Je creëert transparantie rond cloudkosten, vertaalt data naar concrete inzichten en werkt samen met technische en financiële stakeholders om onze cloudomgeving continu te optimaliseren.

Je houdt je onder andere bezig met:

  • Cost visibility & showback: je maakt cloudkosten inzichtelijk voor teams en stakeholders en bouwt verder aan duidelijke showback-modellen.
  • Tagging & governance: je ontwikkelt en bewaakt standaarden rond tagging, ownership en cost allocation.
  • Forecasting & budgeting: je helpt toekomstige cloudkosten voorspellen en ondersteunt teams bij budgettering en financiële planning.
  • Cloud cost optimization: je analyseert het gebruik van AWS, Azure, GCP en onze private cloud en identificeert concrete optimalisatiemogelijkheden.
  • Reporting & insights: je vertaalt complexe clouddata naar begrijpelijke dashboards, analyses en aanbevelingen.
  • Stakeholder management: je werkt nauw samen met engineering-, platform-, finance- en managementteams.
  • FinOps culture: je helpt FinOps verder verankeren binnen Mediahuis en stimuleert teams om zelf verantwoordelijkheid te nemen voor hun cloudgebruik en -kosten.

Hoe ziet je week eruit? De ene dag analyseer je cloud spend en bespreek je optimalisaties met engineers, de volgende werk je met Finance aan forecasts of bespreek je met platformteams hoe tagging en cost allocation beter kunnen. Daarnaast bouw je rapportering verder uit en begeleid je stakeholders bij het interpreteren van hun cloudkosten.

Je bent daarbij niet enkel degene die rapporteert wat cloud kost: je helpt de organisatie vooral begrijpen waarom we bepaalde kosten maken, welke waarde daar tegenover staat en waar we slimmer kunnen werken.

Je beschikt over:

  • Een bachelor- of masterdiploma, bijvoorbeeld in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics of een aanverwante richting, of gelijkwaardige ervaring.
  • Relevante ervaring binnen FinOps, cloud cost management, cloud governance, cloud engineering of cloud financial management.
  • Goede kennis van minstens één grote public cloudomgeving, bij voorkeur AWS en/of Azure. Ervaring met GCP is een plus.
  • Ervaring met onderwerpen zoals cost allocation, tagging, showback/chargeback, forecasting, budgeting en cloud optimization.
  • Voldoende technische affiniteit om vlot samen te werken met engineers en cloud/platformteams.
  • Een analytische mindset: je kunt grote hoeveelheden data vertalen naar duidelijke inzichten en acties.
  • Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en het vermogen om technische en financiële stakeholders bij elkaar te brengen.
  • Een pragmatische en proactieve manier van werken: je signaleert niet alleen problemen, maar helpt ook oplossingen realiseren.
  • Professionele beheersing van het Engels.

Ervaring met FinOps-frameworks of een FinOps Certified Practitioner-certificering is een mooie plus.
