The posting
You'll be responsible for all geophysical related tasks/aspects of a project. This includes everything from project preparations (geological desktop study, survey planning etc.), execution of the fieldwork and data analysis (QA/QC), to data processing, reporting and charting.
You should be able to collaborate with colleagues as part of a (project) team but also feel comfortable working independently without supervision.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES. - Survey Operations: Execute various geophysical survey operations in line with internal procedures and client specifications. - Vessel Mobilisation: Mobilise and calibrate survey vessels. - Data Processing: Process geophysical survey data, create charts, and write reports. - Equipment Maintenance: Maintain measuring instruments and survey equipment. - Administrative Duties: Handle administrative requirements at the project level.
WHO WE LOOK FOR. We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics or Geology, with at least five years experience in a similar position. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team are essentials.
WHAT WE ASK. - Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Geophysics, Geology or a related Earth Science. - 5+ years of experience in a similar position. - In possession of a valid driver’s license (B, preferably incl. BE). - Fluency in English, both written and verbal. - Knowledge of side scan sonar, sub bottom profiler, magnetometer acquisition and processing.
