Het Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) is een topklinisch ziekenhuis met campussen in Genk, Lanaken en Maaseik. Dagelijks zetten duizenden collega’s zich in voor warme, kwalitatieve en innovatieve zorg. Om ons team te versterken, zoeken we een (Senior) IT Engineer Datacenter.

Hoofdstandplaats is Genk, aangevuld met activiteiten op onze andere campussen.

Jouw impact als IT Engineer

Zonder jou ligt alles stil. Als onze Datacenter Engineer ben jij de architect van de digitale fundering van onze organisatie. Jij zorgt ervoor dat onze servers en storage-omgevingen altijd online, razendsnel en maximaal beveiligd zijn. Van de fysieke inrichting in de racks tot de virtuele (cloud-)omgevingen: jij hebt de controle, de expertise en de vrijheid om onze infrastructuur klaar te stomen voor de toekomst.

Je rapporteert aan een IT-domeinarchitect en werkt nauw samen met collega-engineers, projectteams en interne stakeholders. Samen zoeken jullie continu naar verbeteringen en duurzame oplossingen.

Je takenpakket?

  • Bouwen aan de basis: Je ontwerpt, configureert en onderhoudt de fysieke en virtuele datacenter-infrastructuur (VMware, HyperV, ProxMox).
  • Uptime garanderen: Je monitort proactief de systemen, signaleert knelpunten voordat ze impact hebben en lost complexe storingen daadkrachtig op.
  • Innoveren en migreren: Je leidt of ondersteunt grote infrastructuurprojecten, zoals hardware-refresh-trajecten, migraties en capaciteitsuitbreidingen.
  • Lifecycle & Capaciteitsmanagement: Je beheert de volledige levenscyclus van onze systemen. Je plant upgrades, optimaliseert de performance en bewaakt het stroom-, koeling- en ruimteverbruik.
  • Business Continuity: Je richt ijzersterke back-up- en disaster recovery-procedures in, zodat onze data onder álle omstandigheden veilig is.
  • Schakelen met experts: Je bent het technische baken voor interne teams en stuurt externe leveranciers aan bij complexe installaties of onderhoud.

Wat breng jij mee?

  • Een ICT-gerelateerde opleiding op bachelor- of masterniveau.
  • Een technische en analytische mindset, met oog voor kwaliteit en security.
  • Een probleemoplossende aanpak en zin voor initiatief.
  • Vlotte communicatie met IT-collega’s, leveranciers en interne klanten.
  • Teamspirit gecombineerd met zelfstandig kunnen werken.
  • Leergierigheid en de motivatie om je kennis continu verder uit te bouwen.
  • Je spreekt vlot Nederlands, met een goede kennis van Engels.
  • Kennis van een aantal van volgende domeinen: windows server, dhcp/dns, failover clustering, databases en sql, linux, netwerk, microsegmentatie, … is een pluspunt.
