Het Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) is een topklinisch ziekenhuis met campussen in Genk, Lanaken en Maaseik. Dagelijks zetten duizenden collega’s zich in voor warme, kwalitatieve en innovatieve zorg. Die zorg steunt op een betrouwbare en toekomstgerichte IT-infrastructuur — en daar kan jij een sleutelrol in spelen.

Om ons team te versterken, zoeken we een (Senior) IT Engineer IO(M)T.

Hoofdstandplaats is Genk, aangevuld met activiteiten op onze andere campussen.

Jouw impact als IT Engineer

Bouw jij IT-infrastructuur met de patiënt en zorgverlener in gedachten, zodat medische apparatuur altijd veilig en betrouwbaar functioneert? Als onze IT Engineer Io(M)T zorg jij ervoor dat alle medische apparaten, wearables en systemen feilloos gekoppeld zijn aan ons ziekenhuisnetwerk en dat onze zorgverleners er blindelings op kunnen vertrouwen. Je werkt mee aan de verdere uitbouw van diverse systemen in het domein van het Internet of Medical Things, zoals connected medical devices, toepassingen binnen medische beeldvorming en labo en koppeling van deze systemen met het elektronisch patiëntdossier (EPD).

Je rapporteert aan een IT-domeinarchitect en werkt nauw samen met collega-engineers, projectteams en interne stakeholders. Samen zoeken jullie continu naar verbeteringen en duurzame oplossingen.

Je takenpakket?

  • IoT/IoMT Infrastructuur & Integratie: Je ontwerpt, bouwt en beheert een robuuste IT-omgeving specifiek voor de veilige integratie en connectiviteit van (medische) apparatuur binnen het ziekenhuis.
  • Beveiliging van medische apparaten: Je monitort proactief de netwerkveiligheid rondom gekoppelde medische devices, herkent kwetsbaarheden in firmware of protocollen en dicht gaten voordat ze de patiëntenzorg kunnen verstoren.
  • Toekomstbestendige zorgprojecten: Je trekt uitdagende projecten zoals de integratie van medische apparatuur met het Elektronisch Patiënten Dossier (EPD), netwerksegmentatie voor medische devices en de uitrol van nieuwe high-end zorgtechnologie.
  • Vertaalslag van techniek naar de zorgvloer: Je analyseert complexe technische vereisten van medische systemen en vertaalt deze naar stabiele en logische IT-oplossingen die de workflow van zorgverleners ondersteunen.
  • Lifecycle Management: Je optimaliseert bestaande IoT/IoMT-omgevingen, voert tijdig updates en upgrades uit op medische netwerkkoppelingen en zorgt dat systemen altijd up-to-date en performant presteren.
  • Kennisbaken voor zorgtechnologie: Je bent het vaste technische aanspreekpunt voor IT-collega's en leveranciers van medische apparatuur, waarbij je complexe IoT/IoMT-vraagstukken helder weet te analyseren en op te lossen.

  • Een ICT-gerelateerde opleiding op bachelor- of masterniveau.
  • Een technische en analytische mindset, met oog voor kwaliteit en security.
  • Een probleemoplossende aanpak en zin voor initiatief.
  • Vlotte communicatie met IT-collega’s, leveranciers en medische specialisten.
  • Teamspirit gecombineerd met zelfstandig kunnen werken.
  • Leergierigheid en de motivatie om je kennis continu verder uit te bouwen.
  • Je spreekt vlot Nederlands, met een goede kennis van Engels.
  • Ervaring met of diepgaande kennis van medische devices, hun protocollen (zoals Dicom, HL7 of FHIR) en de specifieke security-uitdagingen in een ziekenhuis zijn een pluspunt.
