The posting

Luminex Network Intelligence is op zoek naar een Senior Mechanical Design Engineer met uitgebreide expertise in plaatmetalen behuizingen om robuuste behuizingen voor onze elektronische producten te ontwerpen en ontwikkelen.

Je werkt aan conceptueel ontwerp, mechanische integratie, maakbaarheid en BOM-beheer. Daarbij werk je nauw samen met teams op het gebied van elektrotechniek, productie en kwaliteit. Een sterke focus op Design for Manufacturability (DFM) staat centraal in deze functie, aangezien we de kwaliteitsstandaard binnen onze plaatmetaalketen actief naar een hoger niveau willen tillen.

Naarmate onze productontwikkeling verder professionaliseert, zal mechanical engineering eerder in het ontwerpproces een centralere rol krijgen. Dit omvat onder andere simulaties die input leveren voor beslissingen binnen het elektronicaontwerp, het ontwerpen van kabel- en draadbomen en kabelrouting in SolidWorks, en volledige verantwoordelijkheid voor de assembly-BOM tot en met de productlancering.

We zoeken iemand met voldoende senioriteit om deze ontwikkeling mede vorm te geven, en niet alleen binnen de bestaande processen uit te voeren.

Deze functie is ideaal voor iemand die technische diepgang combineert met praktische engineering, eigenaarschap en een passie voor productontwerp van hoge kwaliteit.

Belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden

1 | Mechanisch ontwerp & integratie

  • Ontwerpen en ontwikkelen van plaatmetalen behuizingen voor elektronische apparatuur in verschillende formaten.
  • Maken van gedetailleerde 3D-modellen en 2D-tekeningen in SolidWorks.
  • Uitvoeren van haalbaarheidsstudies en structurele/thermische analyses, waarbij simulaties al vroeg in de ontwikkelingsfase worden ingezet om ontwerpbeslissingen te ondersteunen, in samenwerking met electrical engineering.
  • Integreren van PCB's, kabelbomen, EMC-aspecten en warmteafvoer in robuuste mechanische samenstellingen.

2 | Maakbaarheid & kwaliteit

  • Aansturen van DFM-verbeteringen voor lasersnijden, ponsen, buigen en lassen.
  • Samenwerken met leveranciers en kwaliteitsteams om de consistentie en het First-Time-Right-percentage te verhogen.
  • Helpen professionaliseren van onze plaatmetaalketen door processen, documentatie en technische standaarden verder te verbeteren.

3 | Eigenaarschap, BOM-beheer & samenwerking

  • Beheren van BOM's in SolidWorks PDM, met de ambitie om door te groeien naar volledige verantwoordelijkheid voor assembly-BOM's.
  • Leiden van design reviews en fungeren als technisch aanspreekpunt voor junior engineers.
  • Actief verantwoordelijkheid nemen tijdens prototyping, validatie en integratie.
  • Samenwerken met manufacturing engineers om schaalbare assemblageprocessen te definiëren.
  • Bachelor- of masterdiploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrieel Ontwerpen of een vergelijkbare opleiding.
  • Minimaal 7 jaar ervaring in mechanical design, met een aantoonbaar trackrecord dat verder gaat dan alleen uitvoering: je hebt bijgedragen aan het vormgeven of verbeteren van engineeringprocessen.
  • Uitstekende beheersing van SolidWorks en SolidWorks PDM.
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met plaatbewerking en DFM-verbeteringen.
  • Ervaring met simulaties (structureel/thermisch) is een sterke plus.
  • Je bent comfortabel met het dragen van volledige verantwoordelijkheid voor assembly-BOM's.
  • Ervaring met het ontwerpen van kunststof behuizingen is een plus.
  • Sterke communicatieve vaardigheden en het vermogen om effectief samen te werken met verschillende teams.
  • Je vindt het prettig om junior engineers te begeleiden en te coachen, zonder formele verantwoordelijkheid voor people management.
  • Kwaliteitsgericht, nauwkeurig en proactief.
