Core responsibilities - Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns (corporate, partnership, individual, and/or trust as applicable). - Manage tax provision and reporting requirements, including ASC 740 support where relevant. - Conduct tax research, interpret new legislation, and document positions and recommendations. - Advise stakeholders on tax planning strategies, entity structuring, and transaction support. - Support audits and examinations; respond to notices and liaise with tax authorities. - Improve tax processes, controls, and documentation; identify automation opportunities. - Mentor junior staff and coordinate workstreams to meet deadlines and quality standards. Required skills and qualifications - Experience: 5+ years in public accounting and/or corporate tax with progressive responsibility. - Technical expertise: Tax compliance, tax accounting, multi-jurisdictional rules, and strong research capability. - Tools: Proficiency with tax preparation software and Excel; familiarity with ERP and provision tools preferred. - Credentials: CPA and/or JD/LLM preferred (as role requires). - Soft skills: Clear communication, project management, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential data.
