The posting

- Stage: Vogels Tellen Voor de Vogelatlas (3-6 Maanden) De verspreidingsgebieden van vogels veranderen soms razendsnel. Denk aan de imposante uitbreiding van de Middelste Bonte Specht en de Koereiger, maar ook aan het verdwijnen van Zomertortels en Matkoppen. Jaarlijks worden deze veranderingen via telprojecten gemonitord in steekproefgebieden. Om veranderingen in verspreiding in kaart te brengen en om populatiegroottes te schatten, is het echter nodig om in heel het land te tellen. Daarom organiseert Sovon Vogelonderzoek Nederland eens per 15 jaar een atlasproject. De informatie die de nieuwe Vogelatlas oplevert, is belangrijk voor het natuurbeleid, de bescherming van vogels en voor het brede publiek. Het veldwerk voor de komende atlas wordt van 1 december 2026 t/m 30 november 2030 uitgevoerd. In deze jaren is het mogelijk om met een stage bij te dragen aan het grootste citizen science- project in ons land! Zie: www.sovon.nl/vogelatlas Tijdens de stage voer je veldwerk in afgebakend gebied uit volgens de atlasmethodiek. Het gaat om meerdere atlasblokken, bij voorkeur in een regio waar weinig vrijwilligers actief zijn. Je brengt de vogelbevolking op een gestandaardiseerde wijze in kaart. Voor vogeltellingen in het voorjaar betekent dit ook dat je vroeg kunt opstaan en dat je vooral 's ochtends actief bent. Voor de wintertellingen en het onderdeel jaarrond kan je gedurende een groter deel van de dag tellen. Afhankelijk van je stage-eisen voer je naast je veldwerk analyses uit. Dit kan gaan om gegevens van de vorige atlas, maar ook om data die je zelf hebt verzameld. Vanuit de team Onderzoek word je begeleid bij je analyses. Wie zoeken wij? - Je volgt een groene mbo-, hbo- of wo-studie. - Je hebt ruime vogelkennis en bent een ervaren waarnemer: nagenoeg alle Nederlandse vogels herken je op zicht en geluid.
