Het doel van transfer pricing is om ervoor te zorgen dat de transacties tussen deze verbonden partijen tegen marktconforme voorwaarden plaatsvinden, alsof de transacties tussen onafhankelijke partijen zouden zijn. Dit is belangrijk voor zowel fiscale redenen-om te verzekeren dat elk land zijn rechtvaardige deel van belastingen ontvangt-als voor het accurate weergeven van een bedrijf zijn financiële prestaties.
