Als Turnaround & Maintenance Engineer neem je een sleutelrol op in de voorbereiding, planning en coördinatie van grootschalige turnarounds binnen de roosterij van een internationale industriële site in Balen. De functie combineert engineering, werkvoorbereiding en voorbereidingscoördinatie. Door technische werkpakketten grondig uit te werken, budgetten en planningen te bewaken en interne en externe partijen op elkaar af te stemmen, wordt gezorgd voor een veilige en beheerste uitvoering van complexe shutdowns. Ervaring met turnarounds is hierbij essentieel: deze positie vraagt om iemand die de volledige dynamiek van voorbereiding, uitvoering en rapportering al vanuit de praktijk kent.

Wat ga je doen?

Turnaround voorbereiding en projectbeheersing

Binnen deze rol worden grote shutdowns en turnarounds voorbereid die vaak zes tot twaalf maanden voorbereiding vragen. De werkzaamheden omvatten het definiëren en bewaken van de scope, het opstellen van realistische planningen en het opvolgen van budgetten, mijlpalen en kritieke afhankelijkheden. Technische werk- en uitvoeringspakketten worden samengesteld met duidelijke instructies, materiaalvereisten, veiligheidsvoorwaarden en uitvoeringscriteria. Daarnaast worden turnaroundprocedures mee uitgewerkt en aangescherpt, zodat verantwoordelijkheden, besluitvorming en werkmethodes vooraf helder zijn vastgelegd.

Voorbereidingscoördinatie en technische afstemming

Als voorbereidingscoördinator worden werkvoorbereiders, technische disciplines, onderhoudsteams en externe contractoren functioneel op elkaar afgestemd. Materiaalbehoeften, bestellingen, levertermijnen en technische beschikbaarheid worden nauwgezet opgevolgd, waarbij SAP als ondersteunend systeem kan worden ingezet. Offertes worden geanalyseerd, leveranciers en uitvoerende partijen worden technisch beoordeeld en alternatieve scenario's worden uitgewerkt wanneer planning, budget of uitvoerbaarheid daarom vragen. De voortgang, risico's en beslispunten worden helder vertaald naar rapporteringen voor de Turnaround Manager, zodat tijdig kan worden bijgestuurd en de uitvoering veilig en efficiënt kan verlopen.

Wie ben jij?

Je beschikt bij voorkeur over een bachelor- of masterdiploma in een technische richting, of hebt door relevante ervaring een gelijkwaardig technisch niveau opgebouwd. Je hebt minstens vijf jaar aantoonbare ervaring met grootschalige turnarounds, shutdowns of vergelijkbare complexe onderhouds- en investeringsprojecten. Hierdoor ben je vertrouwd met de planning, budgettering, werkvoorbereiding en besluitvorming die dergelijke trajecten met zich meebrengen.

Je beschikt over een stevige technische basis in mechanica, piping en rotating equipment en hebt ervaring met het opstellen en beoordelen van technische werkpakketten. Je begrijpt hoe scopebeheer, risicobeoordeling, materiaalplanning, contractormanagement en uitvoeringsvoorbereiding met elkaar samenhangen. Ervaring met SAP is een pluspunt. Je beschikt over VCA VOL of bent bereid dit vóór de opstart te behalen.

Je werkt gestructureerd en hands-on, zonder het totaaloverzicht te verliezen. Je neemt onderbouwde beslissingen op basis van technische gegevens, risicoanalyses en voortgangsinformatie. Je communiceert duidelijk met verschillende technische disciplines en externe partijen, durft verwachtingen scherp te stellen en neemt ownership over voorbereiding en resultaat. Je bent medisch geschikt om te werken in een warme, industriële procesomgeving waar mogelijke blootstelling aan zwavelzuurdampen kan voorkomen.
