The posting

Het UZA opende in 2023 nieuwe verpleegafdeling gespecialiseerd in de diagnose en behandeling van patiënten met een breed scala aan infectieziekten.

Samen met het Instituut voor Tropische Geneeskunde specialiseert het UZA zich al 35 jaar in de diagnose, behandeling en preventie van infectieziekten. Door deze lange geschiedenis kom je als verpleegkundige op de afdeling in contact met patiënten met allerlei complexe en zeldzame infectieziekten zoals HIV/AIDS, tuberculose en rabies. Voor de meest besmettelijke ziektes zoals ebola, verzorg je, na opleiding, patiënten in de ‘high level isolation unit’ die uniek is in België.

De verpleegafdeling infectieziekten werkt nauw samen met Vaccinopolis, het onderzoekscentrum voor de ontwikkeling van vaccins aan de Universiteit Antwerpen. Zo wordt je ook nauw betrokken bij het baanbrekende onderzoek dat hier wordt gevoerd.

Door de variatie in ziektebeelden, patiëntenzorg en wetenschappelijk onderzoek, zal je je dus geen moment vervelen bij ons op de afdeling!

Wat ga je doen?

  • Je werkt na een begeleide inwerkperiode als teamverpleegkundige en staat in voor de volledige verpleegkundige zorg voor een groep patiënten met infectieziekten.
  • Je verleent kwalitatief hoogstaande verpleegkundige zorg aan deze patiënten met bijzondere aandacht voor multipathologie.
  • Je hebt aandacht voor de fysieke, psychische en sociale noden van de patiënt en naaste omgeving.
  • Je herkent onderliggende problemen en zoekt steeds gericht oplossingen.
  • Vanuit een multidisciplinaire aanpak werk je actief mee aan een optimaal herstel en maximale levenskwaliteit voor de patiënten.
  • Je superviseert en begeleidt de ondersteunende functies (o.a. zorgkundigen) in de zorg.
  • Je gaat steeds op zoek naar kansen om te groeien, verbeteren en innoveren.
  • Je wordt getraind voor en ingezet op de HLIU ( high level isolation unit).

Wie zoeken we?

  • Je hebt een diploma verpleegkunde (basisverpeegkundige, HBO-5 of bachelor).
  • Bijkomende opleiding binnen tropische geneeskunde is een troef.
  • Je werkt in continudienst.
  • Je kiest voor een uitdaging in een nieuwe groeiende dienst.
  • Je kiest bewust voor een loopbaan in een omgeving met complexe patiëntenzorg in een academische setting.
  • Je bent iemand die onze visie in verband met levenslang leren reeds in zich heeft; permanent groeien schrikt je niet af.
  • Je bent vooral een teamspeler die op professionele wijze wenst om te gaan met alle actoren in onze setting.
  • Je bent gericht op het concretiseren van doelen en het realiseren van resultaten.
  • Je stelt patiëntveiligheid als prioriteit.
  • Je bent loyaal en integer.
  • Een goede talenkennis (Frans, Engels, …) is een meerwaarde.
