Wat ga je doen?

Als borstverpleegkundige begeleid je patiënten gedurende hun zorgtraject. Je zorgt voor continuïteit, coördinatie en persoonlijke ondersteuning en werkt nauw samen met artsen en andere zorgverleners.

Je staat onder andere in voor:

  • het eerste aanspreekpunt zijn voor patiënten en hun naasten;
  • een snelle en vlotte doorverwijzing binnen het zorgtraject;
  • de opvang en begeleiding van patiënten bij een nieuwe of slechte diagnose;
  • het coördineren en plannen van de nodige onderzoeken, afspraken en vervolgzorg;
  • het geven van duidelijke en begrijpelijke informatie gedurende het volledige zorgtraject;
  • het bieden van emotionele ondersteuning en het oog hebben voor de noden van patiënt en naasten;
  • het tijdig signaleren van bijkomende noden en, waar nodig, doorverwijzen naar andere hulpverleners of ondersteunende diensten;
  • het ondersteunen bij praktische aspecten van de zorg, zoals het regelen van borstprothesen;
  • het opvolgen van de patiënt na ontslag, onder andere op het vlak van wondzorg;
  • het actief deelnemen aan het multidisciplinair overleg en bijdragen aan een afgestemde en kwaliteitsvolle zorg;
  • het mee bewaken en versterken van de kwaliteit en continuïteit van de borstzorg.

Wie ben jij?

  • Je beschikt over een bachelordiploma Verpleegkunde.
  • Een bijzondere beroepstitel Oncologie is een meerwaarde. Ook aantoonbare ervaring binnen de oncologische zorg is een sterke troef.
  • Je hebt een warme, empathische en professionele communicatiestijl.
  • Je kunt complexe informatie op een heldere en patiëntgerichte manier overbrengen.
  • Je bent sterk in coördineren, organiseren en opvolgen.
  • Je werkt vlot samen met verschillende disciplines en weet informatie correct en tijdig te verzamelen en te delen.
  • Je hebt aandacht voor de totale mens achter de patiënt en hebt oog voor zowel lichamelijke, psychosociale als praktische noden.
  • Je draagt graag bij aan gezondheidspreventie, voorlichting en educatie.
  • Je bent zelfstandig, flexibel en stressbestendig.
  • Je neemt initiatief en draagt actief bij aan de verdere ontwikkeling van kwaliteitsvolle borstzorg.
