Als MBO Verpleegkundige binnen de gehandicaptenzorg bied je verpleegkundige zorg, begeleiding en ondersteuning aan ouder wordende cliënten met een verstandelijke beperking. Door het ouder worden neemt de medische en verzorgende zorgvraag toe. Je voert verpleegtechnische handelingen uit, biedt ADL-zorg en signaleert veranderingen in de lichamelijke en mentale gezondheid van cliënten. Naast de directe zorg heb je als MBO Verpleegkundige een belangrijke zorginhoudelijke rol binnen het team. Je bewaakt de kwaliteit en continuïteit van zorg, houdt overzicht bij complexere zorgsituaties en coördineert waar nodig de zorg rondom cliënten. Ook ondersteun en coach je collega's vanuit jouw verpleegkundige expertise. Je werkt nauw samen met begeleiders, gedragswetenschappers en andere zorgprofessionals. Daarbij kijk je altijd naar wat een cliënt zelf kan en waar ondersteuning nodig is. Naast goede verpleegkundige zorg is er volop aandacht voor begeleiding, persoonlijk contact en het creëren van een veilige en vertrouwde woonomgeving.
