- Onderzoeksbeleid NWO NWO bevordert wetenschappelijk onderzoek van wereldklasse mét impact - - Wat NWO doet - NWO-strategie 2023-2026 - Juridische informatie - Werken bij - Ervaren voorzitter gezocht voor het Nederlands Polair Programma - 29 september 2026 Renno Hokwerda Het Nederlands Polair Programma, uitgevoerd door NWO en gefinancierd door vijf ministeries, zoekt een onafhankelijke voorzitter voor de Programmacommissie. De voorzitter geeft richting aan de strategische ontwikkeling en uitvoering van een langjarig programma voor poolonderzoek, op het snijvlak van wetenschap, beleid en internationale samenwerking. In deze rol brengt u overzicht, bestuurlijke ervaring en verbindend leiderschap in een complex krachtenveld van onderzoekers, ministeries, NWO en internationale partners. U zit circa drie tot vier vergaderingen per jaar voor, bewaakt de langetermijnagenda en vertegenwoordigt de Programmacommissie tijdens bijeenkomsten met belanghebbenden. Wij zoeken een ervaren bestuurder met gevoel voor wetenschap en beleid, organisatorische sensitiviteit en plezier in het verbinden van uiteenlopende belangen. Affiniteit met het Noord- en Zuidpoolgebied is een pré. Onafhankelijkheid ten opzichte van huidig Nederlands poolonderzoek en polair beleid is essentieel. De voorzitter wordt aangesteld door de raad van bestuur van NWO, op voordracht van het Interdepartementaal Polair Overleg en de domeinbesturen ENW en SGW. De benoeming geldt in principe voor vier jaar met de mogelijkheid tot een tweede termijn. De begindatum ligt in het voorjaar; de precieze overdracht is bespreekbaar, met de beoogde presentatie en kennismaking op de NL Polaire Dag op 22 april 2027 De functie is vrijwillig maar niet vrijblijvend.
