Over de functie

Als werkplaatsmedewerker Textiel begeleid je studenten bij de realisatie van twee- en driedimensionale ontwerpen in textiel. Je adviseert over materiaalkeuze, maakbaarheid en productieprocessen en geeft instructies in de volgende technieken:

• Weven

Je hebt kennis van en ervaring met verschillende weeftechnieken en het werken op handmatige en/of (semi-)elektronische weefgetouwen. Je kunt studenten begeleiden bij het opzetten van een weefsel, het kiezen en combineren van garens, bindingen en structuren en het vertalen van een ontwerp naar een technisch uitvoerbaar weefsel.

• Breien

Je hebt ervaring met handmatig en machinaal breien en kent verschillende breistructuren en toepassingen. Je kunt breimachines instellen en bedienen en studenten begeleiden bij het ontwikkelen en uitvoeren van ontwerpen in breiwerk. Ervaring met computergestuurde breimachines en bijbehorende software is een pré.

• Tuften

Je hebt ervaring met handmatig en/of machinaal tuften en kunt studenten begeleiden bij het volledige maakproces: van ontwerp en materiaalkeuze tot het opspannen, tuften, verlijmen en afwerken van het werk.

• Overige textieltechnieken

Je hebt kennis van vezels, garens en kunt studenten begeleiden bij het verwerken van garen. Daarnaast heb je ervaring met naaitechnieken, patroonontwikkeling en coupe waarin je studenten kan begeleiden.

• Werkplaatsbeheer

Je hebt ervaring met of affiniteit voor het beheren van een textielwerkplaats, waaronder machineonderhoud, het oplossen van eenvoudige storingen, voorraadbeheer en het veilig opslaan en gebruiken van materialen en apparatuur. Je draagt bij aan een veilige, efficiënte en inspirerende werkplaatsomgeving. Tijdens vrije werkplaatsmomenten begeleid je studenten bij maakprocessen en stimuleer je hen om zelfstandig, veilig en onderzoekend te werken.

Wat wij vragen

• Je hebt aantoonbare ervaring en/of affiniteit met alle bovengenoemde technieken en kunt dit laten zien in je portfolio.

• Je hebt een sterke technische achtergrond en kunt complexe processen duidelijk uitleggen.

• Ervaring met kennisoverdracht en onderwijs is een pluspunt.

• Ervaring binnen de kunsten of creatieve sector is een pré.
