Dat zit 'm vaak in kleine dingen. Van een muziekje om iemand te kalmeren tijdens de verzorging, tot een manier om meer vitamines in een maaltijd te krijgen. Want bij ons draait zorg om mensen, niet alleen om protocollen. Om ideeën, lef en betrokkenheid. Je biedt specialistische zorg en begeleiding aan mensen (volwassenen en ouderen) met de ziekte van Huntington; een erfelijke, progressieve aandoening van de hersenen, binnen ons Regionaal Expertisecentrum op de Landrijt. De ziekte heeft lichamelijke, cognitieve, gedragsmatige en mentale gevolgen (denk aan: chorea, concentratie- en geheugenproblemen, stemmingsstoornissen en persoonlijkheidsveranderingen). Bij iedereen manifesteert deze ziekte anders (leeftijd, gebieden en hevigheid). Dit vraagt per bewoner een specifieke aanpak passend bij iedere fase van de ziekte. Je ziet niet alleen het gedrag, maar vooral de mens erachter. Je stemt jouw begeleiding samen met naasten, collega's en behandelaren voortdurend af op de behoeften van bewoners, waarbij hun eigen regie en zelfstandigheid zoveel mogelijk behouden blijft. Daarbij zet je jezelf bewust in als instrument en blijf je reflecteren op je eigen handelen. Zo zorg je voor passende zorg en begeleiding en dagen die zo prettig mogelijk zijn.
