Rianne Letschert wil het Paramedisch Platform Nederland aandacht vragen voor de positie van de circa 75.000 paramedici in Nederland. In de brief worden paramedici als belangrijke pijlers van de Nederlandse zorg gepositioneerd. Niet alleen als essentieel onderdeel van de zorgketen, maar ook in het sociaal domein met sterke focus op kwaliteit van leven, zelfredzaamheid, preventie, leefstijl en participatie. In de voorbereidingen voor het nieuwe regeerakkoord en de zorgparagrafen missen paramedici echter - tot op heden - een vaste en zichtbare positie in akkoorden en financiering. De sector is niet uitgenodigd voor akkoorden als IZA, AZWA en het Hoofdlijn Akkoord Ouderen. Dat is vreemd, gezien de rol van verbindende laag tussen het sociaal domein en de zorgsector in alle lijnen (instellingen en de eerste lijn) en de schakel tussen zorg en zelfmanagement . Juist door die verbindende positie kunnen zij bijdragen aan samenhangende, effectieve en efficiënte zorg en het voorkomen ervan. Met oog voor gezondheid, participatie en zelfredzaamheid van burgers in de beweging die we op dit moment maken van zorg naar gezondheid. Er is daarvoor een sterke wetenschappelijke en praktijkgerichte onderbouwing: het inzetten van paramedische zorg leidt tot hogere kwaliteit van leven, sneller herstel, minder zwaardere zorg en uiteindelijk kostenbesparing voor het gehele zorgstelsel. Door paramedici structureel te positioneren, wordt Nederland beter toegerust om de huidige én toekomstige zorguitdagingen aan te pakken - met behoud van betaalbaarheid, toegankelijkheid en persoonsgerichte ...
