The Customer Service Rep I is responsible for managing daily order activities, including receiving customer orders for review and processing, resolving order blocks, processing change requests, and overseeing order releases. Responsible for all areas of customer communication and Order-To-Cash services for domestic shipments. Acts as a partner with Business Managers to manage customers and internal departments assuring requirements for overall customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages all Order-to-Cash processes for domestic orders, including samples
  • Responsible for off-line locations, perform shipping transactions and supplies required paperwork in accordance to DOT compliance.
  • Working with AI and automation targets for KPI improvements.
  • Receives and processes customer inquiries.
  • Coordinates vendor requests, receipts and accuracy, customer quotations, system entry, and maintains mater data records for customer & cupset prices.
  • Manages billing customers daily/monthly and responsible for overdue and collections process.
  • Creates and is responsible for all customer account and master data on SAP
  • Researches and works to resolve vendor and customer remittance differences and nonpayment of invoices with responsibility for monitoring and collecting open items (Collections database and SAP transactions and tools used to manage this)
  • Applies problem solving skills to record, review, and resolve customer complaints by working with all areas involved to create appropriate solutions and identification of root cause
  • Works with regulatory matters and documentation requirements (certificate of analysis, labels) to always ensure compliance k) Creates and provides customers, Sales, and Evonik colleagues order, and reports on request

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in related field preferred
  • 1-3 years of comparable work experience required
  • Customer support experience within the Chemical Industry strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and decision making skills Must possess the ability to manage time vs. high volume workload
  • Candidate must be a self-starter, project a positive attitude, and be able to effectively function as part of a team and in individual situations
  • Knowledge in handling SAP and related shipping documents, and associated logistical movements
  • Demonstrated PC and CRM capability required; SAP use would be a plus
  • Understanding of customer service, logistics, and regulatory functions preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. (Specific rate to be determined, but not limited to, geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).

Pay Range: $60,000 - $85,000 annually
