Our success is rooted in our people, our high character reputation and our commitment to creating a diverse and welcoming workplace. We focus on team chemistry, collaboration, strong relationships, valuable networks, and ambitious ideas to deliver innovative solutions that keep our clients and agency ahead of the curve.

Excel Sports Management is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).

Position Summary: Excel Sports Management is seeking a highly motivated, sales-driven Coordinator with at least a year of post grad sales experience to join its Properties division. Based in our Los Angeles or New York office, you will play an active role in supporting the end-to-end sponsorship sales process for marquee partnership assets - including venue naming rights, founding partnerships, jersey sponsorships, and priority category partnerships - across domestic and global sports and entertainment properties. This is a role for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced sales environment, takes initiative without being asked, and is eager to grow a career in sports sponsorship sales.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Sales Support & Prospecting

  • Partner with Property Sales Executives and Sales Staff on all phases of the sales cycle, including proactive prospecting, outreach, follow-up, and pipeline advancement
  • Develop targeted, creative outreach strategies for Sales Executives to deploy
  • Utilize AI tools (including Claude, ChatGPT, and other platforms) to maximize output for the sales team (company and contact research, ideation, prospecting, outreach collateral, sales strategy, creative development, etc.)
  • Conduct in-depth company and category research to identify viable sponsorship prospects for each Excel client
  • Secure meetings and calls with marketing executives by drafting compelling sales outreach and following up proactively
  • Prepare high-quality pre- and post-meeting materials, including thought-starter presentations, brand briefs, category overviews, and competitive landscapes
  • Coordinate with Sales Strategy and Marketing Solutions teams on the development of pitch decks, proposals, and other follow-up materials
  • Support advanced sales processes with contributions to proposals, presentations, and special project deliverables
  • Proactively monitor industry and business trade news to surface relevant updates on active prospects (leadership changes, acquisitions, new product launches, relocations), emerging companies and brand categories, optimal decision-maker contacts and timely sales hooks, and any other news relevant to the Properties team's sales efforts
  • Schedule internal and external meetings on behalf of Sales Executives as necessary

Client Management & Operations

  • Support client management processes by assisting the project sales lead, Revenue Operations, and Marketing Solutions teams as directed
  • Lead preparation for weekly client calls, including organizing Salesforce pipelines and developing agendas
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce/CRM at all times
  • Prepare weekly outreach schedules to keep the sales team accountable to targets and goals
  • Provide weekly internal activity reports to the Property Sales Team
  • Support client onboarding by collaborating with Sales Strategy to create Master Prospect Lists, sales hooks, contact hooks, and Data Request Lists
  • Act as a key liaison between the Properties Sales Team and other Excel divisions

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in a sales or sports marketing-focused role; Sports Agency or Property experience preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of contributing to or supporting a sales pipeline in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Sales Acumen: Genuine passion for sales and a clear desire to grow within a sales career; ability to identify opportunities, build relationships, and contribute meaningfully to revenue goals
  • Sports Marketing Expertise: Strong understanding of the sports sponsorship landscape, key industry players, asset categories, and value proposition for B2B and B2C brands
  • AI and Tech Proficiency: Hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) to accelerate research, draft outreach, and optimize workflows; highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite; basic proficiency in Salesforce preferred; experience with SponsorUnited, ZoomInfo, or PitchBook preferred
  • Independence & Drive: Demonstrated ability to work proactively, manage workload autonomously, and drive impact without waiting to be directed
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work outside standard business hours as needed to meet client and deal deadlines
  • Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills; able to engage effectively with a wide range of audiences
  • Organization: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous and thorough across all work product
  • Integrity: High commitment to quality, organizational ethics, and discretion in all interpersonal relationships

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
