Team Overview:

  • Technology Operations & Services (TOS) is EDC’s “run, support and sustain” engine for technology services, helping keep technology stable, dependable and resilient while enabling employees and business teams to work, connect, collaborate and serve customers. Within this mandate, TOS builds and operates the Monitoring & Observability Foundation Service, bringing together monitoring platforms, telemetry, event management, integrations and service practices to provide visibility into the health and performance of EDC’s technology environment.
  • The service provides the platforms, integrations and operational capabilities needed across on-premises, hybrid, cloud-native and SaaS environments. TOS works closely with Enterprise Architecture to align these capabilities with EDC’s broader Enterprise Observability strategy and collaborates with product and platform teams, ITSM/ITOM, CMDB, managed-service providers and technology vendors to deliver and operate the service.

What you will be doing:

  • The Product Owner of the Monitoring & Observability Foundation Service is accountable for the strategy, roadmap, governance and effectiveness of the service, building the capabilities needed to progressively deliver actionable operational insights. As a key TOS contributor to EDC’s Enterprise Observability strategy, the Product Owner works with Enterprise Architecture, architects and other stakeholders to help shape the direction and translate it into technology capabilities and priorities.
  • Own and evolve the TOS Monitoring & Observability Foundation Service in alignment with EDC’s Enterprise Observability strategy and architecture.
  • Define the service vision, capabilities and operating model, translating enterprise direction into a prioritized multi-year roadmap and delivery backlog.
  • Advance application and full-stack observability, using service dependencies, logs, metrics, traces and other telemetry to improve proactive monitoring, root-cause and impact analysis, and progressively deliver actionable operational insights.
  • Define, measure and report service performance, including SLIs, SLOs, adoption, platform health and value realization.
  • Provide product ownership for observability platforms, including Dynatrace, overseeing platform health, access, consumption, lifecycle and cost management.
  • Guide integration with ServiceNow Event Management and work with ITSM, ITOM and CMDB teams to establish the processes and data foundations required for effective event management and observability.
  • Own and continuously improve the Monitoring & Observability service intake, prioritization and backlog.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, technical teams and business stakeholders to understand observability needs, drive adoption and translate requirements into service capabilities.
  • Manage key vendor and managed-service relationships, including licensing, contracts, vendor performance, delivery scope and escalation.
  • Provide technical and operational input to Enterprise Architecture-led decisions on the evolution and rationalization of observability and monitoring technologies.
  • Participate actively in EDC’s Product Owner Community of Practice and ensure the service aligns with applicable product standards.

What we are looking for:

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in enterprise monitoring, observability, IT operations or related technology disciplines.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability concepts, including metrics, logs, traces, events, alerting, dashboards, dependency visibility, application performance monitoring or digital-experience monitoring.
  • Experience as a product owner, service owner or platform owner, including translating enterprise strategy and architecture into technical roadmaps, backlogs and service capabilities.
  • Experience integrating monitoring or observability capabilities with ITSM/ITOM processes and platforms, particularly Event Management.
  • Experience working in an outsourced or managed-services environment, including oversight of service providers, vendors and third parties.
  • Experience with vendor management, licensing, consumption planning, budgeting and supporting investment and business-case development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across architecture, technical and business teams to translate enterprise standards into operational services and clear delivery priorities.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into operational and business outcomes.

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience with Dynatrace, ServiceNow, Azure Monitor, Cisco ThousandEyes or DNAC, VMware Aria Suite, Microsoft Configuration Manager or comparable technologies.
  • Technical knowledge of digital experience monitoring, application performance monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, network performance monitoring, log analytics and distributed tracing.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow ITOM/Event Management, CMDB dependencies and event-to-alert-to-incident integration.
  • Experience contributing to observability standards and developing service offerings, technical standards or tool-rationalization plans.
  • Experience leading application onboarding or a full-stack observability proof of concept.
  • Knowledge of cloud, hybrid and SaaS monitoring approaches, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Knowledge of AIOps, automation, closed-loop operational response, platform access governance, data retention, consumption management and FinOps principles.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
