What you’ll do

  • Prepare meals as ordered
  • Responsible for the preparation of all food items ensuring a high standard of taste, temperature and preparation
  • Assist in the preparation of several parts of a major meal by mixing and stirring, ladling, adjusting heat, etc.
  • Clean work areas and utensils
  • Perform other related work as required
  • Prepare your mise-en-place for next day
  • Assist with another station as assigned by the Chef
  • Collect store items as required from the main kitchen
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and report any repair or maintenance needed
  • Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Some knowledge of materials, methods and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale, and the use and care of utensils and equipment
  • Some knowledge of food values and nutrition
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work under pressure
