Job Description

Generic Accountability

Portfolio

  • Ensuring that all transaction is being monitored by analysts periodically for any issues Policies
  • Consistently maintain top-quality Credit Policies and Programs. Process
  • Ensure that all credit applications submitted by the team meet the required standards and adhere to the prescribed format. Maintain alignment of processes with the agreed turnaround time.
  • Proactive monitoring of credits for early problem recognition.
  • Ensures availability of required information to Credit Committee Members for credit decision making
  • Assist Risk department in various Central Bank reporting and Audit queries People
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Coverage, Product and Risk) to ensure functioning of various tasks is conducted in a smooth and efficient manner.
  • Job Specific Accountabilities

General

  • Aware of the latest developments in the assigned portfolio with constant updating of developments across various industries.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of structuring transactions with deep dive analysis of the risks.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects or duties as assigned by Head of Division
  • Ensure that any underwriting memo is appropriately drafted by business incorporating the key terms of the underwrite and liquidity analysis.

Portfolio

  • Monitor all key credit portfolio parameters periodically and ensure that the deviation of portfolio to the credit policies are minimal.
  • Monitor underwriting portfolio and periodically convene the underwriting portfolio meeting with the key stakeholders.

Process

  • Advises coverage teams on risk factors associated with complex transactions / high risk industries and clauses imperative mitigating these.
  • Oversee due diligence process for prospective transaction and ensure emerging risk factors are appropriately addressed in the term sheet and credit application.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide guidance on key risk factors, acceptable structure and appropriate due diligence

People

  • Guides a team of analyst whereby the transaction is analyzed appropriately in line with the credit policies and credit proposals are prepared to meet the internal standards.
  • Plan, anticipate and identify future capacity and skill needs of the department and pursue their fulfilment.
  • Cross-train and develop staff to achieve efficient resource utilization and deployment. Also, identify and retain key talent in the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree along with MBA in Finance

Minimum Experience

15 years’ relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 5 years in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the credit.
