The posting

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
  2. Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers for performance improvements.
  3. Work closely with application developers to ensure seamless integration of database components with applications.
  4. Perform database tuning and optimization (PTO), including indexing strategies, query execution plans, and partitioning.
  5. Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to facilitate data movement and transformation between systems.
  6. Implement database security best practices, including user authentication, role-based access control, and encryption.
  7. Monitor and analyze database performance, addressing bottlenecks and optimizing resource utilization.
  8. Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  9. Collaborate with data analysts and Product/business teams to support reporting and data visualization needs using SQL-based reporting tools.
  10. Maintain documentation of database structures, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
  11. Ensure data quality and consistency across multiple environments, including Development, Staging, and Production.
  12. Develop and maintain data models, including logical and physical data design.
  13. Stay updated with the latest SQL Server features, best practices, and industry trends.
  14. Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options such as failover clustering, database mirroring, log shipping, and replication.
  15. Manage user security, including logins, roles, and privileges to ensure data integrity and security compliance.
  16. Optional: Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS for advanced analytics and reporting.
  17. Optional: Experience working in financial markets or similar data-intensive domains is an added advantage.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in SQL Server development, including T-SQL, query optimization, and stored procedures.
  • Experience in database design, normalization, and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of performance tuning techniques, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in working with version control tools such as Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot database-related issues.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
