About The Role

The Senior Analyst role within the Protein Diversification Research & Engagements team plays a central part in shaping and delivering FAIRR’s Protein Diversification programme, supporting investor engagement under the guidance and supervision of the Head of Food Innovation & Social Risk and in close collaboration with the programme Manager and technical specialists.

The role will primarily support Protein Diversification research and investor engagements. It will also provide support to selected Social Risk engagement activities and collaborate closely with the Social Risk team where priorities require.

Key Outcomes & Accountabilities

Engagement strategies

  • Work in close collaboration with the protein diversification and social risk technical specialists, the Head of Food Innovation & Social Risk and other internal stakeholders to review, define and launch the team’s engagement strategy.
  • Consult as necessary with internal and external stakeholders to obtain insights and feedback to evolve engagement strategies and tactics to maximise FAIRR’s impact.

Investor and company engagement

  • Support the day-to-day implementation of the Protein Diversification & Social Risk engagement strategy, with a primary focus on food system transition risks and opportunities. The Senior Analyst will initially support investor engagements and, as they develop in the role, will be expected to lead the day-to-day coordination of engagements throughout the full lifecycle. This includes effective communication with investors and corporate representatives; preparing materials for engagement calls; managing call notes, follow-ups, and action tracking.
  • Participate in direct dialogues with companies and investors, leading segments of engagement dialogues and presentations relevant to specific areas of expertise of the Senior Analyst. This may include representing FAIRR at virtual or in-person meetings, investor briefings, and conferences across the responsible investment, food innovation, social risk, and broader industry landscape. The Senior Analyst will be expected to eventually take full ownership and responsibility for delivering engagements.

Research and writing

  • Support the delivery of thematically relevant reports, insight pieces, consultation responses, and other written outputs for external audiences including media and journalist requests, under the guidance of the Head of Food Innovation & Social Risk and technical specialists. This includes coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders where relevant, being accountable for data and visuals accuracy and writing drafts or sections.
  • Deliver company assessments for the relevant engagements, within the engagement timeline and to the level of quality and accuracy expected to company and investor-facing materials.
  • Ensure written outputs are clear, concise, and aligned with FAIRR’s analytical standards and messaging for investor audiences.

Data analysis and research leadership

  • Take ownership in consultation with technical specialists of company-level datasets, qualitative research, and sector-level analysis relevant to Protein Diversification and, as required, Social Risk programmes, with a strong emphasis on financial materiality. Core focus areas include protein diversification strategies, product innovation, supply chain engagement, consumer education, with linkages to climate, health, nature, sustainable agriculture, just transition, and broader innovation and diet transition-related themes.
  • Work closely with the Research & Data team to contribute to company assessments and data analysis for the Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index and Seafood Index. This may include updating assessments on specific topics, supporting methodological reviews and updates, and ensuring analytical consistency across the Index.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior analysts and interns on a day-to-day basis, helping to deliver high-quality company and sector research that underpins FAIRR’s engagements and outputs.
  • As part of a close-knit and relatively small Protein Diversification and Social Risk team, support ad hoc research requests, events, and cross-team initiatives as required.

Success Measures

  • Engagement delivery: Agreed engagement milestones are delivered on time, with well-prepared briefing materials, accurate call notes and timely follow-up. Progression from supporting engagements to independently coordinating and delivering the full engagement lifecycle is demonstrated as expertise develops.
  • Research and written outputs: Company assessments, reports and other agreed outputs are completed within programme timelines and meet FAIRR’s analytical standards. Writing is clear, concise and relevant to investors, with accurate data, visuals and evidence-based conclusions.
  • Data quality and analytical consistency: Company datasets and sector analysis are accurate and maintained to support engagement priorities. Contributions to the Coller FAIRR Protein Producer Index and Seafood Index are timely and consistent with agreed methodologies, in collaboration with technical specialists and the Research & Data team.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Investor, company and internal stakeholder feedback demonstrates clear communication, useful engagement materials and effective coordination. Dialogues and presentations communicate financially material risks and opportunities, with actions and progress recorded.
  • Strategy contribution: Research insights and stakeholder feedback inform the development and refinement of engagement strategies, with clear contributions to agreed Protein Diversification priorities and selected Social Risk activities.
  • Team contribution: Effective collaboration supports delivery across workstreams, including agreed ad hoc research and events. Junior analysts and interns receive practical guidance that supports high-quality research and timely completion of their work.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
