Pediatric Speech Therapist (SLP)

Details about this opportunity:

Location: Center Based - Hawthorne, NY

  • Fully center-based position in which students attend for full school day (9am-3pm)
  • Caseload consists of school-age children between the ages of 5-21 with varying developmental disabilities
  • Collaborate closely with on-site BCBAs, Special Education Teachers, OTs, PTs, etc.

Status: Part-Time or Full-Time opportunity

Hours: Full-Time employees – Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm

  • For Part-Time employees – ability to create a flexible schedule based on service hours (9am-3pm)

Compensation:

  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist: $70,000-$85,000

**Please note this is an average. Rates are determined by the service provided, professional experience and license/certifications held. In addition the position posted may be either full-time or fee-for-service (FFS), depending on the current caseload which will be discussed during the interview. This arrangement can vary and is subject to change.**

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for your caseload.
  • Administer and create speech and language evaluations.
  • Ongoing communication and collaboration with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Special Educators specifically related to overall language and functional communication.
  • Oversight of student’s Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
  • Utilize students’ behavior management strategies and behavior intervention plans during sessions.
  • Maintain professionalism with families, school districts, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs.
  • Create and maintain schedule.
  • Collect data on each IEP goal and reports on progress quarterly.
  • Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CSE meetings and/or annual reviews.

And this background:

  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (Clinical Fellows welcome to apply- must have NYSED TSSLD or pending))
  • NYS SLP
  • ASHA (CCCs)
  • NYSED Certifications: TSSLD or TSHH
  • Experience working with students with autism preferred.
  • Experience programming Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Devices
  • Bilingual is a plus.
