About this Role
At Fandom, the Corporate Development Director will be part of a visible and active function that drives the corporate development lifecycle, in partnership with our executive leadership, important operational team members and our private equity investor, TPG. You will report to the CFO/COO and work with senior leaders to manage all stages of the evaluation, diligence, and workflow processes that lead to acquisition, partnership and/or divestiture.
The Corporate Development function spearheads and works towards our M&A strategy by managing inbound deal flows and outbound deal sourcing. You will be responsible for ideating, researching, negotiating, structuring, executing impactful acquisitions. You will be informing and supporting our overall strategy by identifying industry trends and maintaining strong relationships with startups, entrepreneurs, VCs, PE funds, bankers and strategics. You Will...
- Work with the CFO/COO on deal sourcing, qualification, initial rationale/pitch, financial modeling, due diligence and deal closing activities
- Assist and provide support during M&A integration periods
- Analyze industry trends to identify potential acquisition targets
- Develop industry landscapes and competitive analyses for board/executive level review
- Direct diligence efforts between internal and external parties
- Analyze diligence data and create board/executive level presentations
- Manage data room and distribution of materials to appropriate parties, act as primary contact for diligence requests
- Independently build financial models and forecasts for potential acquisition targets to inform valuation and budgetary needs
- Be comfortable working with limited information to create low/base/high scenario analyses
- Experiment with different types of business models and translate them into a detailed operating model
You Have...
- 2+ years of investment banking, 3+ years of corporate development and/or private equity experience
- Expertise in building financial and valuation models
- Experience working on M&A transactions of different sizes, from acqui-hires and asset-only purchases to full company purchase and integration
- Must-Have skills: Excel (can build and maintain complex spreadsheets) and Google Sheets, PowerPoint and Google Slides, comfortable working with AI (Claude) to build automated workflows, memos and financial models
- Sound judgment, sharp analytical skills, excellent written communication skills, strong verbal and presentation capabilities

- Experience working in or with gaming, entertainment, digital media or internet services industries
- Experience navigating organizations with a matrix company structure
- Have strong affinity towards gaming and/or entertainment
