Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will develop and enhance data and analytics solutions supporting Treasury Capital Markets P&L, capital, and return-on-equity reporting. You will use Python, SQL, Tableau, and, where appropriate, R to automate data pipelines and controls, build decision-ready dashboards, investigate complex financial data, and partner with Finance and Technology teams to deliver scalable and well-governed solutions.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Senior Financial Engineer - Capital Markets role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Python- and SQL-based data pipelines, analytical utilities, and automated validation routines for large financial datasets.
  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Accounting, and Technology stakeholders to translate reporting and analytical needs into technical designs, data models, and reusable solutions.
  • Build and enhance Tableau dashboards and analytical views that explain TCM P&L, balance, funding cost, required capital, ROE, and key performance drivers.
  • Develop prototypes and production-ready analytical code, including data transformations, reconciliations, exception monitoring, and scenario or attribution analysis.
  • Translate complex data and technical findings into clear visualizations, documentation, and conclusions for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and financial subject-matter experts to troubleshoot data issues, optimize queries, and improve platform performance and reliability.
  • Perform code reviews, unit and regression testing, source-to-target reconciliations, data-quality checks, release validation, and production support for internally developed tools and dashboards.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences:

  • 2 years of experience developing data, analytics, automation, or reporting solutions in a finance, risk, or capital markets environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, aggregations, data profiling, query optimization, and working with large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience using Python for data analysis, automation, ETL, validation, or analytical application development.
  • Experience developing and supporting Tableau dashboards, including data connections, calculated fields, performance tuning, and validation of data and visual outputs.
  • Experience with software development practices such as version control, modular code, documentation, testing, peer review, and controlled releases.
  • Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.

Desired Experiences:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Finance, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with R for statistical analysis, modeling, or data transformation is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Redshift, data warehousing, APIs, ETL frameworks, or cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of accounting P&L, capital markets products, mortgage finance, funds transfer pricing, required capital, or ROE concepts.
  • Experience implementing data-quality controls, monitoring, reconciliation frameworks, and production support for business-critical reporting.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
