THE ROLE

You will join one of the teams responsible for developing and maintaining multiple business-to-business applications built on the Farfetch Platform. Our solutions support internal teams and business partners, using technologies such as React, Next.js, TypeScript, Blazor, .NET, NestJS and GraphQL.

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer – Full Stack who is passionate about technology, eager to learn and motivated to grow in a collaborative engineering environment.

You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to the development and continuous improvement of our applications while building your technical skills and gradually taking greater ownership of your work. If you enjoy solving problems, exploring different frontend technologies, sharing ideas and building solutions that make a difference, this could be a great opportunity for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and maintain frontend features for business-to-business applications using modern technologies such as React, TypeScript and Blazor.
  • Contribute to applications built with JavaScript/TypeScript and C#/.NET technologies, with support from experienced engineers.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering teams to deliver intuitive, accessible and reliable user experiences.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code, following established engineering practices.
  • Build and improve reusable UI components, contributing to consistency and maintainability across applications.
  • Integrate frontend applications with backend services and APIs.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, learning from feedback and contributing your own ideas.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues, progressively developing your problem-solving skills and technical autonomy.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in application quality, performance, accessibility and user experience.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, communicate progress and proactively raise questions or blockers when needed.
  • Continuously learn and explore new technologies, tools and engineering practices.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A Junior Software Engineer with a background in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Someone with foundational knowledge of frontend development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
  • Familiar with JavaScript fundamentals, including ES6+, asynchronous programming and basic programming concepts.
  • Familiar with React, Blazor or another modern frontend framework, through academic projects, internships, personal projects or professional experience.
  • Interested in learning and working with different frontend technologies, including TypeScript, React, Blazor and the .NET ecosystem.
  • Someone who understands the importance of writing clean, maintainable and testable code.
  • Familiar with Git and basic software development workflows.
  • Curious and analytical, with a willingness to investigate problems, ask questions and learn from feedback.
  • Proactive, responsible and willing to take ownership of assigned work while recognising when support is needed.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and working with others.
  • Someone with a growth mindset, attention to detail and a genuine interest in continuously improving their technical skills.
  • Comfortable communicating in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with TypeScript, React or Next.js.
  • Knowledge of C# and .NET / ASP.NET Core.
  • Familiarity with Blazor, including Razor components, component lifecycle, data binding and event handling.
  • Experience with Blazor UI component libraries, such as MudBlazor.
  • Understanding of component-based architecture, state management and reusable UI design.
  • Basic knowledge of backend development using ASP.NET Core, Node.js or NestJS.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs or GraphQL.
  • Understanding of unit testing and frontend testing tools, including Jest, React Testing Library, xUnit or bUnit.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies.
  • Personal, academic or professional projects demonstrating an interest in frontend development.
