Position Summary:

The College of Nursing (CON) is seeking an Instructor of Nursing to support the teaching mission of the College through high-quality instruction, student mentoring, and service. This is a non-tenure-track visiting faculty appointment designed for an educator committed to excellence in teaching and student success in a caring-based academic environment.

The Instructor will teach undergraduate nursing courses in classroom, laboratory, simulation, online, and/or clinical settings as assigned. Teaching assignments may be on the Boca Raton, Davie, or Jupiter campuses based on College need. The successful candidate will contribute to the College’s mission by fostering student learning, maintaining academic and clinical standards, and participating in service activities that support the College, University, and profession.

FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing is nationally recognized for its caring-based philosophy and commitment to advancing nursing education, practice, scholarship, and community engagement. The College offers BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs and values innovation, collaboration, and excellence in preparing nurses to serve diverse populations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution. • Current, unencumbered Florida RN license, or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure by the start date, as appropriate to the assignment. • Currently hold and have held a full-time position as an Instructor or Assistant/Associate/Professor within a nursing school/college offering graduate degrees for at least three years. • Demonstrated expertise in the clinical or academic specialty area relevant to the teaching assignment. • Ability to teach effectively in classroom, online, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical environments. • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field (PhD, DNP, EdD, or equivalent). • Clinical practice experience in the specialty area of instruction. • National specialty certification appropriate to the teaching assignment. • Experience with learning management systems, simulation instruction, and student evaluation in clinical settings.

Transcripts must be issued to Florida Atlantic University, not to the individual applicant.
