Job Description

Handi-Van Transportation Driver - Part-Time:

The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Fond du Lac County is seeking dependable, compassionate, and safety-conscious individuals to join our Handi-Van transportation team. This part-time position provides safe, reliable transportation for older adults and individuals with disabilities in the City of Fond du Lac and Village of North Fond du Lac.

Responsibilities include safely transporting passengers to and from scheduled destinations, assisting passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles, and properly securing wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Drivers are responsible for following the assigned routes and schedules, conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate records, and reporting vehicle maintenance or safety concerns. Drivers must provide courteous, respectful, and professional service while ensuring passenger safety and comfort.

Qualified applicants must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and carry minimum automobile insurance coverage. Applicants must successfully pass a caregiver background check and traffic background check. Employment is contingent on satisfactorily passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Drivers are also subject to random drug and alcohol tested in accordance with federal regulations.

Applicants must demonstrate sound judgement, follow established policies and procedures, and work flexible hours including early mornings and evenings as needed.
