The posting

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is a world-famous brand with offices across the globe. Fender was born in Southern California and has built a worldwide influence beyond the studio and the stage. A Fender is more than an instrument; it’s a cultural symbol that resonates globally.

We are currently searching for an exceptional Polisher to join our Buff & Polish team in Corona, CA. The Polisher will be responsible for buffing, polishing, inspecting, and preparing guitar bodies and necks to achieve Fender’s required cosmetic and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good hand dexterity, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality finished surfaces in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform hand and machine buffing and polishing operations on guitar bodies and necks.
  • Polish finished parts to established cosmetic, quality, and production standards.
  • Inspect parts throughout the polishing process for scratches, burns, surface defects, contamination, or other finish imperfections.
  • Identify and correct minor defects when possible and escalate parts requiring additional repair or rework.
  • Properly handle finished guitar components to prevent damage during processing.
  • Follow established work instructions, production specifications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Safely operate buffing, polishing, and other applicable hand and power equipment.
  • Meet established production, quality, and efficiency expectations.
  • Communicate production progress, quality concerns, and equipment issues to the supervisor or Team Lead.
  • Maintain equipment and the immediate work area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Follow all required safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and upstream/downstream production departments to maintain production flow.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience, polishing experience, or similar hands-on production experience preferred; candidates with strong relevant operational knowledge may also be considered.
  • Ability to buff and polish parts to detailed cosmetic and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, hand dexterity, and ability to identify surface and finish defects.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and established procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of the safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership regarding work status, quality concerns, and production needs.
  • Guitar or musical background preferred but not required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
