Meet Fetch Platform Engineering Platform Engineering at Fetch is grounded in service to developers, strong ownership, and purposeful innovation. Rather than building end-user features, platform engineers focus on the foundations that other teams rely on, spanning core systems, architecture, automation, and developer workflows.

This work lives in complex problem spaces where the right answer is rarely obvious. Our engineers navigate ambiguity with data and sound judgment, understand tradeoffs, and partner closely across product and engineering to solve problems that scale. We maintain a high technical bar and value practicality, curiosity, and continuous improvement. This is an environment for builders who enjoy shaping durable platforms, improving developer experience at scale, and enabling teams across Fetch to ship with confidence.

About the Role: We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer II focused on CI/CD Engineering to help build and improve the systems, tooling, and developer workflows that power software delivery across Fetch.

You will design and develop tools and automation that make it easier for engineers to build, test, validate, and deploy software with confidence. This includes improving CI performance, strengthening automated testing and verification, enhancing observability, and providing developers with faster, more actionable feedback.

This is a software engineering role with a strong backend and platform engineering focus. While you will work closely with CI/CD infrastructure and DevOps technologies, much of your work will involve writing production-quality software, developing testing frameworks, and building tools that improve how engineering teams deliver code.

At the Senior II level, you will independently own complex technical projects, make thoughtful design decisions, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions. You will help identify opportunities to improve developer workflows and contribute to technical solutions that can scale across Fetch.

This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.

What you’ll do at Fetch: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD tooling, automated verification systems, and developer workflows that improve software delivery. Independently own complex technical projects, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement. Develop backend services, internal tools, and automation that support build, test, validation, and deployment workflows. Improve automated testing capabilities, including integration testing, end-to-end testing, contract testing, and performance regression testing. Build and enhance automated quality gates, merge validation, and verification workflows that improve software reliability and release confidence. Optimize CI/CD performance through caching, parallelization, infrastructure improvements, and more efficient test execution. Improve observability and developer feedback by making pipeline health, test failures, performance regressions, and deployment outcomes easier to diagnose. Partner with backend, infrastructure, SRE, security, frontend, and mobile engineers to improve testing practices and developer workflows. Contribute to technical design decisions, document solutions, and mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing. Explore opportunities to incorporate AI-assisted development and automated verification into engineering workflows.

Minimum Requirements: 8+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on experience with backend systems, CI/CD tooling, developer infrastructure, or platform engineering. Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience designing, building, and maintaining production-quality backend services, APIs, or internal tools. Experience building or improving CI/CD pipelines, automated testing infrastructure, and software delivery workflows. Hands-on experience with integration testing, end-to-end testing, contract testing, or performance regression testing. Experience with observability, monitoring, and debugging tools, including diagnosing complex application or pipeline reliability issues. Understanding of API contracts, schema validation, distributed systems, and service integration patterns. Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, and modern DevOps practices, including technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code. Ability to independently solve complex technical problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver maintainable solutions. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across engineering teams. A developer-focused mindset and curiosity about AI-assisted development and emerging engineering tools.

Preferred Requirements: Experience building internal developer platforms, CI/CD verification frameworks, or developer productivity tooling. Experience with CI platforms such as GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar systems. Experience developing backend services or automation using Go, Python, or similar languages. Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, or other cloud infrastructure technologies. Experience building automated quality gates, contract testing frameworks, or reproducible test environments. Experience with progressive delivery, canary deployments, merge queues, or artifact-based deployment workflows. Experience improving build and test performance across large codebases or distributed engineering environments. Experience applying AI or autonomous agents to software development, testing, CI/CD, or operational workflows. Open-source contributions or involvement in developer tooling, infrastructure, or software engineering communities.

Compensation: At Fetch, we offer competitive compensation packages including base, equity, and benefits to the exceptional folks we hire. The base salary range for this position is $190,409 - $224,011. Discover our benefits and how our employees live rewarded at https://fetch.com/careers.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
