About the role

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Platform team.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions across AWS cloud environments and on-premise/bare-metal infrastructure.

You will play a key role in maintaining and evolving our hybrid infrastructure, combining traditional systems administration with modern Cloud and DevOps practices.

Our infrastructure includes dedicated bare-metal servers hosted by external providers such as OVH, alongside AWS cloud services. You will work across both environments, ensuring reliability, security, automation, and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on technical role that requires a strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code.

As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to infrastructure architecture, lead technical initiatives, troubleshoot complex production issues, and collaborate closely with DevOps, Platform Engineering, Security, and Software Engineering teams.

This role is ideal for experienced infrastructure professionals who enjoy working across both cloud-native and traditional environments and want to take ownership of critical infrastructure without focusing on physical datacenter operations.

What you'll do

  • Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize infrastructure across AWS and bare-metal environments.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based servers hosted by external infrastructure providers such as OVH.
  • Manage and optimize AWS services, including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, Route 53, ELB/ALB, and EKS.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters running in both AWS and self-hosted environments.
  • Design and maintain secure networking and connectivity between cloud and bare-metal infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational processes using Python, Bash, and Ansible.
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot complex production incidents involving servers, networking, containers, and cloud services.
  • Implement and improve backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
  • Support infrastructure modernization and future cloud migration initiatives when required.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to improve deployment processes, scalability, and reliability.
  • Contribute to infrastructure architecture decisions, technical standards, and operational best practices.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and share knowledge across distributed engineering teams.

About you

You are an experienced Infrastructure or Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Linux systems administration, AWS, Kubernetes, and automation.

You understand how traditional infrastructure works and are equally comfortable working with modern cloud technologies.

You enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, troubleshooting production systems, and improving reliability through automation.

You are comfortable taking ownership of infrastructure initiatives, working independently, and collaborating with international engineering teams.

Most importantly, you are a hands-on engineer who understands both the underlying infrastructure and the cloud services running on top of it.

Requirements

Language Requirements

  • English: Full professional proficiency (C1+/C2 or near-native level) – Mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to participate fluently in complex technical discussions and collaborate with international teams.
  • Spanish: Nice to have, but not mandatory.

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or related roles.
  • 3+ years of experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
  • Proven experience managing both cloud infrastructure and dedicated physical/bare-metal servers.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production.
  • Experience operating business-critical infrastructure with high availability and reliability requirements.
  • Experience working with international, distributed, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Cloud & AWS (Must Have)

  • Core AWS Services: EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, Route 53, ELB/ALB, and RDS.
  • Networking: VPC networking, routing, security groups, VPNs, and connectivity between cloud and external infrastructure.
  • Container Orchestration: Experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes workloads.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Strong hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Understanding of cloud security, monitoring, scalability, and cost optimization.

Bare-Metal & Infrastructure (Must Have)

  • Linux Administration: Strong experience with Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, or similar distributions).
  • Bare-Metal Infrastructure: Experience administering dedicated physical servers hosted by external providers such as OVH, Hetzner, or equivalent.
  • Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and load balancing.
  • Virtualization: Experience with VMware, KVM, Proxmox, or similar virtualization technologies.
  • Kubernetes: Hands-on experience managing self-hosted Kubernetes clusters, including cluster operations, networking, storage, and troubleshooting.
  • Storage & Backup: Understanding of persistent storage, NFS, SAN/NAS, backup strategies, and disaster recovery.
  • Security: Experience with Linux hardening, access management, firewalls, and secure infrastructure configuration.

Please note: This position focuses on the remote administration and operation of bare-metal infrastructure. Physical datacenter management, rack installation, and hardware cabling are not part of the role.

DevOps, Automation & Observability (Must Have)

  • Infrastructure Automation: Terraform, Ansible, Bash, and/or Python.
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and container networking.
  • CI/CD: Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent tools.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Datadog, or similar solutions.

  • Experience designing secure and reliable connectivity between different infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
  • Understanding of workload migration strategies, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and modernization.
  • Ability to evaluate infrastructure trade-offs considering performance, reliability, security, and cost.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hands-on mindset with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills when collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in an English-speaking, international engineering environment.

  • Experience working with OVHcloud or other dedicated server hosting providers.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer.
  • Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS.
  • Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
